Re: Roomies for CT Convention...
So, I am looking at the info and it is only 1 hr and 7 minutes from my house. I really want to go!
My question is, can you pick the room you want to be in there or you have to do it in advance? Do I still have time for this?

Maggie -- You are only about an hour away and still hesitating? In September I drove about 7 hours to Living Canvas in San Jose, and will do the same for Learn and Play in about 3 weeks. I wish I had conventions that were as close as an hour or 2 away.....
You have to go! You'll love it.

Hahaha
Actually, this year I have paid for almost everything with what I made at the Maryland RennFest so my hubby has been a happy camper.

I'm would guess that maybe flights to Vegas are cheaper than other destinations.... and hotels are for sure!

Re: Roomies for CT Convention...
Michelle, is not the 1 hr drive I am worry about, it is my husband's lack of schedule. He flies on demand for a small charter company so unless he is on vacation he can get called in anytime.
Hey! I want a sugar daddy, I shouldn't have marry for love...joke

Vegas baby! Didn't see that. Maybe if I ask my husband to take his vacation that week then I can go to Vegas, maybe he wouldn't go for it.
Re: Roomies for CT Convention...
OH geeze....I just long to do one of these.....seriously!! There would be nowhere to go but up for skillz if I could get there!
Re: Roomies for CT Convention...
Lots of good advice on what to bring on these posts:

And, of course, the 3 biggest things to bring are....an open mind, the will to learn, and a smile! Just know that you're gonna have a great time!

Re: Roomies for CT Convention...
So WANT to go....but can't get away from work on those dates. Considering going to FABAIC in May, but know it won't be the same as the smaller conventions. Went to my first convention in November (FABBULAS) and it was GREAT!! You won't regret going. I went basically as a newbie, and sooooo nervous that I would be out of my league, but I was made to feel at home immediately (by a few of our FPF members) and the rest was just a total blast. Everyone was so friendly and the instructors are very down to earth and approachable. You will soooo enjoy the experience!

Hey Maggie,
When I last spoke to the front desk clerk at the Baymont Inn, she said they were booked solid, but she also said that they are booked solid ON THE COMPUTER (no deposit is required) and that it could very well change when the day of convention arrives and people start playing roomie swap. If I were you, I'd see about reserving a room (you can't beat the $70 reg. rate or $110 Suite rate) so you can get into the Convention block. You have up till 24 hours prior to arrival to cancel.
