popping reactions

Post by Perry Noia on Sun Nov 21, 2010 9:43 pm

comments in another thread made me think that we ought to have a thread of ideas on how we react when the balloons pop. Clowns always have to find ways to keep things light and funny when anything happens, but it's good for any twister to have ways to diffuse the situation when things pop... it's bound to happen.

Things I do/say:
- "I thought it was a puppy, it turned out to be a weasel!" ...pop goes the weasel?
- "Are we under attack?!?!!!"
- "All balloons will pop sooner or later. If this hasn't popped by next week, bring it back and I'll pop it for you."

it's always good to have a bunch of these types of lines swimming around in your head... the first one that comes to the top when the moment arises is the winner! Wink

Cool! I'm still a twister in training so this will help as I'm definitely a "Popper!" Cool

Those are great comedy lines, Perry! I don't twist often myself, and usually have a couple balloons pop on me right away before I remember to take off the diamond wedding ring when twisting. lol

I like those lines...never think of anything so clever. My hubby usually gets to do the balloons so he usually acts silly or scared. He makes up stuff like that. When you are in a mall and one pops...LOL. I laugh every time. People think they are getting robbed or something.

What about "Oh naughty word" ha ha ha... You know what's funny, is when I pop them when I'm by myself I swear like you wouldn't believe... but for some reason little ears give me self control.

Some lines that I use are:

"See! This is a pop culture sculpture!"
"Hmm, little early in the day to be setting off fireworks, isn't it?"
"Oh boy! Where are the fireworks? I wanna see!"
"I totally meant to do that!"
"That darn Mosquito!"
"I guess that dog was house 'broken'"

That's just a few. Yeah, some are better than others and some are best used around older kids as they will understand the reference better (i.e. pop culture means nothing to a 5 y.o. and a 4-7 y.o may not make the connection to the mosquito one or house "broken" one.) But these none-the-less seem to make people giggle or at least smile, so I keep on using them.
