Contract/ Agreement

Post by Michelle G on Thu Nov 25, 2010 1:17 am

I have seen a fe thread with other people asking this same question. Do you make people sign a contract? I am more looking for an agreement but I am not sure where to start or how to phrase it. Does anyone have any examples they may be willing to share with me?

Shannon Fennel has tons of free resources on her site. Find her on here & & click on HERE under her name. She's asked us not to repost her info, so you'll have to look for it.

Shannon's papers are great to use. I make everyone sign a contract. I send it to them email and tell them to return it with their deposit to me. If they pay me using PayPal, then I still require that they mail it in or my policy is not to do their party and it is already stated that the deposit is non-refundable.

It may sound harsh but it is a way to protect you from some of the things that people try to get by with. You need to see all of Shannon's papers, I downloaded her expense forms and they have helped a lot in keeping me more organized.

AllieDawn,

I've visited her resource page.. it has lots of info.

I found it by being in a post that she had responded to (I don't remember the post)... I clicked on the word HERE below her signature and links and followed that link.

Good luck!

And thanks Michelle glad to hear the book was useful too you.

I'm just in the final stages of the second book The Art of Face Painting... inserting photos and finalizing all the SBS to go in it.

Shannon's book is very helpful, I have it as well. I modified the information a bit and made an electronic form that they can fill out and send back to me (use Google docs - form). They type in their name as their signature. It also has my liability statement on it. It has worked beautifully.

I may be missing something but I'm not seeing what I am looking for. Is there a form we can use to book clients? something they can sign and we can put our policy, price agreed on, date/description of party, etc. something like that? something they can send back with a deposit.
Jennifer, can you maybe explain a little more about what it is that you used?
TIA

I have a contract now that I require clients to sign and either email, fax or mail it back to me. I also require a deposit to be paid at least a week in advance, but sooner is better. I tell them if I haven't received a deposit and signed contract, then their date is not held and can be given to someone else. It has really helped with people not sending in deposits and then canceling at the last minute!

You can download it from the website at http://www.vhdesign.com/facepainting/contract.doc
if you'd like to take a look at it.

I then put the signed contract into a binder so that I have all their information at my fingertips when it's time for the gig.

finally - my contract is done... I think...

Post by DeannaB on Wed Mar 23, 2011 4:41 pm

Hi All ~ Well it took forever and lots of research (and borrowing) but I finally finished my Face & Body Art Service Agreement. I'm a little worried about passing it out and making it public - it's a long one... 5 pages long... but each area is important and in my mind justified. I would love some feed back.

I've added the PDF version to Google Docs online at: http://tiny.cc/DD-FABA-PDF-Agreement

But the real snazzy part is in the actual PDF file - all of the fields are fillable and/or click-able. If you would like to check out the real PDF file please send me your email address. Thank you everyone for posting and making great suggestions. Thanks! Deanna

On the first page - "your form may be submitted by digitally by email"

Remove the first 'by'.

Other than that, it looks amazing. Haha, I actually read the whole thing. Razz
