1 month new from the Seattle, Washington area.

Post by ipainthappyfaces on Sun Nov 28, 2010 4:03 pm

Hello everyone! I am a former wellness nurse, not working at the time, a mother of 3 and married. I am finding this face painting an amazing world I just stepped into a month ago. It all started for me when my daughters school asked for a volunteer to do face painting at a school fundraiser. I thought this would be fun. I never told anyone I had never done it before but got the "job" and now the pressure is on to learn fast! I guess I like a challenge or I am a fool! Either way I am having a wonderful time and becoming obsessed with this like many of you are. This site has been so helpful to me. I am so glad I found it. Thank you to all of you who helped me so much this last month. Btw, my first "job" is Dec. 4th. I have a small but growing portfolio and I am learning to do the Arty Brush strokes from the training CD by Sillyheather of Silly Farm. I am so excited about how cool this technique is! Funny story: One night I went to bed early and asked my husband to put our 9 year old daughter to bed, well, they got into my face paints and Ben Nye powders. I wish I could show you the pictures of my husbands face! So after that I bought her her own face paints and we are having so much fun together. We took them to a family gathering (Thanksgiving) and had a wild time we will all remember, again I wish I could show you the pictures!

Thanks for making me feel welcome! I would love to respond to the request for pictures but I don't know how to do that on this site yet.

When you're in the 'quick reply' section (where you type your message) look up and you'll see a box with a square and looks like a disk overlayed on it (A). click on that and 'upload' a file. When three long boxes appear, highlight the bottom one and right click and copy. Then click on the box next to the (A) box with the overlayed disk. It'll be just the 'box' no overlayed disk. One small long box will appear. right click in there and 'paste' the line you copied. It sounds complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it's not bad. It's hard for us 'visual' types to follow text directions I know. Make sure the image is small to start with.

Oh those pictures are just so wonderful!!!!!!! My sister is just above Mt. Vernon and job hunting in Bellingham. It's just a beautiful area. We were there for her wedding (on the beach) a few years ago and I just loved Seattle and the whole area.
