Coloring Sheet for Goodie Bags

Post by Metina on Mon Feb 16, 2009 12:05 pm

I got this idea from a clown at a Wolfe Brother's class I took this weekend. She had a caractiture made of herself and made of a coloring sheet with her name and phone number for it. She puts them in goodie bags that she gives out to every child at the party.

What kind of coloring sheet could we do as a face painter?

I have a colouring sheet for my clown character... you can see it on my website if you like. I made it myself and the kids and parents really like it.

As a face painter, you could have a couple of pages with a picture of a little girl with a butterfly on her face and a little boy with a tiger or something? If you have a "character" look that you wear when you are face painting, it would be even better as far as branding yourself to have a picture of yourself on it though.

Not trying to market myself here or anything, but if you'd like me to try and make one for you, you can email me a picture to base it on and I'd accept donations in the form of Mooseburger gift certificates for my Moose Camp trip this summer Wink

Hey, I got to go to Mooseburger Camp one year.....It was great, but I didn't get to get into the classes that I wanted. For example, The Classes I wanted were of course in the clown tract and included developing my Character, developing my clown face etc. The Classes I got were in the magic tract, because the clown tract was over filled. So be sure to get there as early as you can and pick the tract that you want as early as you can.

I also have another suggestion for you. Go to FCM in Marion Ind. It's a week long convention that includes a Clown tract. At this convention you can jump from class to class in any tract. The tracts include Clowning, Face Painting, Magic, Balloons, Puppets, Chalk Art, and some other stuff. Then after the day long classes there is a big show each evening, and then there are jams that go on to the wee hours of the night....The face painters and the Balloonists are the two groups that go on the longest....many times until 3 and 4 in the morning....and then breakfast and back to classes at 8 or 9. Dollar for Dollar, this is the best convention anywhere. It is a Christian Convention (Fellowship of Christian Magicians), so if you're not a Christian this may not be a good match, as each class starts with a prayer. Another great part of this convention is the low cost....Rooms are about $30 a night, cheaper when you share a room, a bit more if you get a townhouse. Kids are welcome...and there are lots of activities for the kids. The week Long (a true week) convention is about $150. and all the meals for the week, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are less then $100 for the week.

Wow Jenny! What a great resource. Here is the link to the convention, but they don't really have the details up just yet about what they are offering. Hopefully they will add this soon.

I've been to Mooseburger too! Was a lot of fun... but I have killed my clown off now.

Colouring sheets for face painters can be a basic tiger or cat or a dog face which would allow the kids to colour in the base colours. You just need to think as the images as very simple line drawings that allow for filling in of the colours.

I had never heard of anyone not being able to take the classes they wanted at Moose Camp.... Priscilla calls everyone to help them pick their classes. Just curious what you mean by getting there early? I have to go on the bus from the airport and I would seriously demand a refund if I had to take magic classes... I am not even remotely interested in magic and camp costs a lot of money to take stuff that you don't want to do.

I am looking forward to face painting with Marcela Murad though Wink

OK. I have made some up and they are in my gallery. Take a look and let me know what you think. I want something a bit better for the message, but I am in a rush right now.

I know, what about the face, but I thought leaving it blank makes it a bit more unique????

I'll pass these to anyone once I have them finished if you want them.

Since I've never really done birthday parties before I'm not sure I could use coloring sheets for myself, at least not until I'm a bit more experienced, but I'd be happy to try drawing something up for y'all to add to your collections. Smile

I don't just use them at parties... I give them out everywhere I go. Parents will keep them longer than most business cards, the kids will make them put it on the fridge at least for a little while and it's got your contact info on it! I only use my business cards if someone specifically asks for it, but I'm always asking the kids if they like to colour!

Savvy, that would be wonderful! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Metina, yours look good too! I think faces with outlines of butterflies, batman masks, tigers and swirls would be popular. I can paint on a face but can't draw worth a darn! LOL

Hi Everyone
I'm new to this forum, my name is Chloé

I love the Idea of giving out a colouring in sheet to every kid, great idea for advertising!!!
I wanted to ask do you give out a small pack of pencils or crayons with the colouring in sheets or do you just give out the sheets by themselves?

I'm thinking of giving them out at events and when I do a market stall... Very Happy

I don't usually give anything with them, although I have been looking at the possibility of getting some of those little 4 packs of crayons with my name printed on them... http://www.brandcomet.com/:quicksearch.htm?quicksearchbox=crayons&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&submit=submit
