So, who is going?? I've already decided that I would like to go again. Just gotta find a roomie and a way to wiggle out of a class or two at school(why is lafete always one week off from spring break??)

Is this a good event for newbies?

I went last year as a newbie and learned so much! I don't have any other convention to compare it to, but it's very laid-back. I did the all-day class with Mark Reid and really perfected my brush strokes, etc. And Ashley was such a help! She showed me something I had been doing wrong and I was able to correct some bad habits I had picked up- thanks, Ashley! I live close by so I didn't stay at the hotel, just drove in each day. The food is included and home-cooked by the organizers and everyone sits around for lunch and dinner and eat together and talk. I got to know some local painters really well- hey MeLisa!! I'm sooo glad I went. I didn't stay for the evening bodypainting sessions as I'm just not interested in that.

I sooooo very badly want to go. I had been planning on using my tax money to fund it, then the Hubs had to go and win a week vacay in one of those swank all-expense paid resorts in Puerto Villarta (now have to buy air fare and passports). Damn. But then, Yay too. Sigh.

So, I'll be saving my pennies and hoping against hope. Maybe take the bus.

we're definately going again this year - it was soo much fun last year - can't wait to see who's teaching the classes either!

Wow! The price is pretty reasonable & w/ food!
Is there a lot of face painting or is it mostly body painting?
