Made my own palette case and one stroke mini cakes!

Post by maggie on Tue Nov 30, 2010 6:25 pm

Hi all, I found a great box to make my own palette case and I could not help to share with you.
I wanted the one Metina sell here but the bargain shopper in my couldn't do it so I had to find a way and trust me, when it comes to bargain, I'll find a way Smile The case is called Slimcase.

This is my 1st time posting pictures so bear with me please Smile

Thanks for looking
Maggie

Picture of my palette case $9.99 at staples but they have them at walmart for $8 and some change
The paint is snazaroo sparkle, found them at jerry's artarama for $5.40 each

Mini one stroke cakes

I also found the perfect box for my brushes $5.99 and another little box for $1.99 at Michaels for making more one stroke mini cakes.

*Sigh* All new and clean and un-smoodged and ...
I remember when everything was so shiny and new that i didn't want to cut up my cakes... my pallets looked so impressive... now they look very 'loved' - even cleaned up my kit ain't what it was..... rather like myself...lol

Your containers are great. I bought the double Paradise pro pallet when I started so I was pretty lucky that everything was all in it's own place, all neatly. and the arty cakes fit snugly down the center strip. I'm wondering if you have secured the snaz paint in the top pic?
Do they move around when you load a sponge or have you velcro'd or used magnets to hold them down?
Carefull when choosing splitcake containers - some plastics can react with different paints... pretty sure Snaz has an FAQ on this.

Thanks poizonedpeach...cool screen name Smile

Tash, love the new feel of it too but after this Friday it won't be the same hehehehe I decided to cut my old pallet and make the mini stroke ones, I hesitated but didn't take long to take the plunge. I bought the snazaroo because it was so reasonable priced. My plan is to use those for dual cakes but I need to get the sparkle white and they didn't have it at the store.

All my paints except the small tag paints are secured with velcro, it works great.

Thank you for letting me know about the platic, I am going to check it out now.

Hi Tash, I can't find the info on the snazaroo site, have you read it there before? I am very curious about this. Don't want to use something that isn't safe.

I think it is that snaz eats through plastic....

Are your snaz and dfx cakes just hanging out in there or did you fasten them somehow? Very cool cases!!

If I get a chance I will look for the FAQ for you - busy day.
Did you go to the Snaz site and check?
There are a lot of FAQ's.....
otherwise you can ask Gary Cole... if he's in a good mood he might actualy help you.
If you are using a lot of snaz you should check out all the FAQ's anyway, they are very informative.
When I get some time I'll post a link.

Hi Tash, I looked on their website but all I found was questions about shipping, ordering and returning products. BTW does this only happens with Snazaroo paints or with others?
Thank you so much for helping!

Ginacentral, sorry I didn't see your question before. I bought little sticky velcro squares and they are all attached to the case except the tag cakes.

Thanks Suzy!

Tash, excuse my ignorance but who is this guy? Never mind I just googled him.

LOL Linda, maybe I'll bite back. Shocked

You want to avoid the pretty clear cases, those are the ones Snaz likes to eat. The milky white ones are safe. I cant remember the exact names of the cases... i know one i polystyrene and the other is poly-something...I can never remember which is which...
