Fire fighters etc?

Post by Kristal on Wed Dec 01, 2010 7:48 pm

Last minute booking for a party on Saturday. I'm booked but one of my twisters was free, so he's going. Fine. Then she asks if we have any fire fighter/truck balloons...no - never been requested before. But they're having a firetruck themed party, complete with firetruck and fire fighters (oh how I wish I was available!) so she wants to make sure there's something just in case...

Would have been nice to have more than 2.5 days' notice.

Anyway, I told her I would see what I could come up with, but no guarantees.

Anyone have ideas? Firefighter's axe would be easy enough, I imagine...anyone know a good firefighter's hat? Quickie truck?

TIA

that's a great firefighter hat (although a little complicated for my usual stuff)

I've done an axe before... just a gray 260, make two triangles out of it with pinch twists in the corners and coming to points together in the middle. Attach a brown handle with pinch twists going on either side of the gray part so that it doesn't flop side to side at all. Hope that made some sense. I didn't get a picture of the one I made (I was at a medieval event).... maybe I'll have time to make another?

You could twist a grey & white balloon together for the hose(like a princess wand) & then a light blue & dark blue for the water shooting from the hose... Red & orange twisted makes great fire.

Thanks, loves!

I tried an axe - and got told it looked more like an oversized bow tie, lol. Maybe I did mine differently?

This is what I came up with:

1) The firefighter's hat (which is SO hard to take a pic of, and have it pass the "what is it?" test!)

2) A "fire truck," distinguishable by the ladder Razz

Thoughts? I just know that now we've got a couple of designs, no one will want one...as per usual. lol I do feel better about saying there's no guarantee, and coming up with a couple of options, though - and if no one bites, I'll file 'em away for next time!

Haha, somewhat Razz

And my twister said that after all of that, he had one request for the fire fighter's hat, and 2 for the firetruck (one for the bday boy's younger brother, and I've a feeling that was a parental choice Razz) - the birthday boy got a bumblebee, haha.
