Re: Step by Step Dragon Tattoo

Wow, I hadn't even seen all the cool dragons on pg. 2 before I grabbed an arty cake and gave it a try. They all look so awesome.
I used Wolfe met white sponged on as a light background, then for the body a 'tattoo rose' cake that has maroon, dark red, bright pink, white, black. I used a 3/4 brush and made the body with the maroon, dk. red, bright pink (if I were to use this cake again for this dragon, I would not pick up as much maroon. the pink disappears). I used the black and white on the cake to do 75% of the detailing. I finally got annoyed and got the big black and white cakes to just go quicker (paradise). Then some gems and some glitter.
Psalm this is such a great tutorial, and fun design. Thank you so much for sharing!

I've been feeling all 'heart-y' lately. thanks all!
when I was painting it, I wanted her to have oversized cartoony lips, but now that I keep looking at it.....
are they lips?
Or did that dragon just snatch a heart out of mid-air for a snack?

Hey Linda, have to thank you for your inspiration. I tried this one at a party recently and it was a big hit.

This little guy has a difficult time looking tough even with the dragon cuz of his adorable face...

I did this on my niece a couple of weeks ago. We couldn't stop laughing at the friendly (non-scary) smile on him!

THANK YOU FOR THIS! I have tried a couple different dragons and haven't found one I'm comfortable with. I like the simplicity of this, I'll def be trying it soon! Smile

Dragons (that aren't tribalized) are a huge weakspot for me, so thank you SO much. This fills me with loads of inspiration. :-)

Okay, I decided to take my own crack at this one! Here it is!

I'm pretty happy with this one (except I think I made the head a bit big) and may just add it to my board for this year. I'm trying to come up with more designs to use all these splits I've got here that I don't use much.
