Hello from DC (ish)

Post by MommysLittleMonsters on Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:28 am

Hi everyone! Just wanted to do an intro on here. My name is Autumn, but I go by SpankyMcLaaLaa on alot of things so you may have seen me on youtube or on other forums as that. I've been slacking on my face painting since I moved from Florida (MandiIlene actually got me into it ) it's been a busy busy year! I'm really hoping to start new here in my area, but I'm finding it to be a little hard. Looking forward to chatting with you wonderfuly people! Smile

Hello Autumn, and welcome! I can't imagine trying to establish my business all over again in a new location. I know that must be a daunting task!

Yeah it's not been fun, lol. I have to say it's alot easier when you know other painters in the area, but I haven't met many around here. I'm really really pregnant right now too so it's kinda hard to book anything when I'm afraid (and the customer is too frankly) I may pop at a party...ha! Maybe after the baby comes it will be easier to sell myself.

Welcome Autumn! It sounds like while you may be off to a slow start, you are off! I can imagine it must be so hard starting the business over - and with a due date soon approaching! Best wishes and look forward to your posts.

yeah you'd think, but all of my stuff is still in Florida so I don't have a full length mirror. Really hard to do a belly painting with a tiny hand mirror lol

Welcome to the forum. I recently relocated too and I had a baby so I am trying to adjust things to get back to work. Just keep practicing in your down time. It's looking more and more like it will be over a year before I get to work again, for child care reasons, but I have really come to enjoy the extra practice time and the time to just better organize my business and load up on advertisement material and skills for when I get back to it. Hope it all works out for you. Enjoy the forum.
