@anramire2 - Thank you so much! I'm still new so I really appreciate the support!
@maggie - Yup...I was 'commissioned' or challenged to do a theme again for this one and it's 'Steampunk' (last one was sugar skulls). It was tough because I *had* seen steampunk before but was unaware thats what I was looking at so I had to really do some research and digging! It's a henna pattern book but I have a feeling I'm going to be trying to see how much of it will translate into perhaps a nice backpiece in FP! My model comes in monday for the henna photos - a FP version at some point will probably not be far behind!

BUT I just wanted to hollar a quick THANK you for the push and support on this thread! I have not been brave enough to cut up my big cakes BUT I was inspired (got hit with the idea brick) and remembered I had little tiny snaz kits (the 3 color) and two refills! (thank goodness for conferences!) and went frantically tearing through all my crafty stuff. AND here is what I found!!

And you guys are right!! (not that there was any doubt!) but it is easier once you get started to get cutting! Here are the ones I came up with. There are just two colors at the moment, but I'm on a roll I think. The pix are super quick arm flash that I did with the split cakes only!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Gotta fly...breakkie with mom!

LOL Yeah....me and google got real close while I tried to research it and it turns out I quite like it! Doubtful I'm going to be picking up my own goggles any time soon, but it's still pretty nifty! I am suprised at how many Sci-Fi shows/series have steampunk elements in them now that I am familiar with the genre!

I am sooo grateful that I am a bit of a hoarder as I found MORE bitty snaz samples and split all of them! Now I have a bumble bee split cake! Here is a photo of my bitty split cakes and I then sat and had a 'speed race' with myself to pick up my pace. All the cheek art was done between 25 seconds and 2.5 minutes including brush load time with only the cakes in the picture. The are not super pretty, because I was going for cheek art in the 'real world' of a huge line up. Hopefully they will also look a bit better after I’ve done them a couple of times. I'm going to try to time my 'speed eye art' next! And once I downloaded the photos, I also figure I should have washed my ‘canvas’ better between designs… you can see bits of old colors.
Note to self: turns out the blue and red palette + balloon picture=ugly balloons. This will now be my ‘bruised’ split cake.

Kim, your work is great!! makes me not want to post anything, EVER. Just kidding. I just got a nice little camera for Christmas so I'm sure you guys will see some of my work in the future, but I can definitley guarantee it's nothing like yours, Kim. And college classes start back next week, so between work and school, I sense a dry season coming up.

Kim and Maggie both, your work is great for the amount of time you have been doing this. I really NEED to practice MORE MORE MORE.

Peggy, we are our worse critics. I am never happy with my work and always doubt what I do. Practice is a great idea but also don't be shy and get your work out, it will help you a lot to know what others see and what they might suggest, you will learn a lot from all the talented people here.
