Inspired!!
I was looking at the "kit" section last night because I have been trying to find something to put all my paints in. I had a scrapbooking storage "thingy" that I was using..it was super cute but I have slightly out grown it but I am addicted to buying all the different colors and cakes! Anyhow, as I was looking yesterday at the kit category I saw everyone talking about the FatMax. Today I went and bought me one and set it up thinking that I maybe wouldnt need a huge table now!! I was so happy I got inspired and painted a design out of the Mark Reid Cats book that I have! Thanks for sharing all of this info everyone...especially for a newbie like me!!
Re: Inspired!!
Hey Audrey! Can't wait to see it.
In the text box, there's an icon just above the box that looks like a photo and floppy disc (6th from the left). You can click that to upload your photo (browse and find it on your computer) and then save the link they give you. After that you can click the photo icon (7th from left) and copy the link there to put it in your post. Hope this helps!
Re: Inspired!!
VERY pretty blending! Did you use any split cakes on this one or just fat brush or sponge loading?? Me likee!
Re: Inspired!!
I just painted on the white and used an arty cake for the colors. Done some outlining and the blended it a tiny bit into the white and that was it. Definately not even close to the amazing one in the Mark Reid book!! But thanks!!
Re: Inspired!!
I'm still super new but one thing I've learned is that depending on the design, the blending can make all the difference and hide alot of imperfections! I still need blending practice...you have this down pat! Unsure what Mark Reid's looks like, but this is very pretty. I'm noticing more and more that some people are starting out with a white background like you did....I'm thinking I should do this more often. Seems to help the colors 'pop' more than I originally thought!
OH...and on a side note, I'm jelous of your fatmax!

Re: Inspired!!
I never heard of the fat mat... I just got done making this little custom folding / rolling table, I am in process of making a second one that will be a lot lighter...

Re: Inspired!!
Nice case. It reminds me of one that's around... I think... $400 being sold in the face painting market. Not sure who does it... I saw the price tag & looked away quickly.

PaintandGlamour - tell us more about the table!
Is it just like Dawn's "Artist on the Go" table? Did you make it from scratch? Can you pretty pretty pretty please show us the rest of the table?
Psalm- for what it's worth I have only heard excellent things from folks who bought the table. I might get one - I feel awkward carrying my table and chair and backpack... and design board ...ahem,
