Vista FREE business cards

Well there selection is so so much prettier than the ones I have been making at home with the Walmart Avery Business card sheets.......Have you picked one of there designs?

I am a HUGE Vista print fan....they just had a huge xmas sale...all uploaded pix were free and they remain in your account if you use them. I just got 150 postcards, a car magnet, banner, poster and rack cards for $15.00!

I use vista print all the time.... love that company. I don't generally use the templates though. I like to create my own stuff in Gimp and upload the finished design. I use templates for my postcards and large banner with my name and stuff, but business cards, car magnets and stuff are my own designs. I love that I can add pictures to all of their templates though, it really personalizes it.

I totally agree! I prefer to upload my own as I know what I want my brand to look like. Here is my henna card postcard - elegant for bridal clientele:

And here is my poster (same as the banner that is coming) for my FP. A bit more fun and colorful! It won't see the light of day until I'm ready to 'go public' but at least I'm ready to go!

I also like the fact that I can change the cards whenever I like. I have one regular client that likes my 'collectors cards'! The info is always the same but the photo changes!
But if you were not inclined to create your own, they do have a wide selection.
(I put my henna lawn sign in my gallery...it comes double sided so you can catch clients coming and going at outdoor events).
Vista is great for quick or the person that really enjoys DIY marketing

I ordered mine from there but they are a little sneaky, some how I pressed a link and they started to charge me monthly for something I was not aware of.

Well I will admit, you have to be careful checking out....they really try to get you on the upsale...instead of 'would you like fries with that' or 'would you like to supersize' it's 'would you like to get matching stationary or a personalized stamp for special offer of $xx.xx!' and you have to be careful of which check out button to use. Right now I think they are trying to get webhosting up. But over all....if you are just careful it's worth the extra reading. But I agree...not a site to be in a rush or get click happy!!! BUT the customer service is usually really good....did you talk to them about the extra charge?

Yes, they refunded the whole amount since they noticed I never used the service I was paying for LOL The funny thing is that when you purchase from them they ask you to check your order couple of times (I ordered from them before) but when you missclick on a button and they add things they don't ask you squash.

BTW you want some fries with that shake? couldn't help it LOL

I never use templates though. It's way too generic and confusing for your customers. I get a lot business cards from people and it irritating when I recognize a vistaprint design. It tells me they don't have their own identity and if anyone should have an identity it's a facepainter You should be able to tell from one marketing medium to the next that it's the same company. That way you get recognition accumulating.

Kim, I like your cards. The mardi gras one is beautiful. You're work is fantastic for anyone let alone for only painting a month! Think about how you could come up with a common thread to share with your two services. Then when people see one they'll recognize your efforts spent on the other too and you'll be perceived as a bigger business. It can be as simple as the same background and font. The names don't have to be similar even. I know you want to present a certain image to the wedding clients that isn't as bold as the facepainting, but I bet you could come up with something great.

I keep a file on my outlook of the Vistaprint 'specials' they email all the time and then go through and pick the one that has the items/free shipping etc I want. They say they expire, but they never do. I used one from 2008 the other day that had free shipping, and 7 day delivery. It didn't have the cool new products, but I just needed the basics for a trade show I joined up with at the last minute. I saved hundreds of dollars and got a lot of product. I recently ordered their 'free' notebooks and printed my image on the front for a sketch book of ideas:
I made another one too with lined paper to keep track of written notes. Weird, can't seem to get my image to show up...

Nope It's just a marketing ploy to get you to 'order now'! But it'd be an administrative nightmare to manage the 100's of 'specials' they pump out. Just be careful to pick the ones that have 'free uploads' if you're adding a new image and 'free shipping' if you're ordering a lot of something. They recycle the deals so I delete the older ones that reoccur and the one's that aren't really a good deal like the ones that say 'great value'. It just means, you get it free if you use our template, but if you want to add your own image, it'll cost 'ya. Many say 80% off and stuff like that, but you know it'll be free the next special.

I used to use Vista all the time, but now I set up an account with an over seas printer, I can get 5000 cards, glossy UV coated. full color both side for 100.00. Shipping takes a week or 2 but worth it.

i also use vista print..got my business cards post cards and banner done there.. I have another banner i use for displays and out side events i can change my pictures out when i have new ones

I used Vista Print when I had my old online biz. I had my web designer make a matching design for my cards. I've never made a design by myself.

What's the best program to use? I just got a new IMAC computer and I'm so lost! LOL I have only exchanged phone #s so far. It's worked, but it's time to get some nice biz cards. I have put it off long enough

Catz, I didn't realize that they never expire so I have deleted all of mine. Do you have any recent ones? All I need to do an order is the offer or promo code at the bottom. I don't know if there are any rules or regulations about you sending it to me and if it makes you uncomfortable, don't worry about it. I just thought it would be nice to have one on hand for my next order.
