I made a folding / rollin table : )

Post by PaintAndGlitter on Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:54 am

First draft, I will be making my second one lighter, I will post pics of that one soon. It has adjustable folding legs with wheels. It is a lot like the Artist On The Go Table.

Very cool! I'm very interested in details, like where you found the folding legs and how you connected them and where you got the box. LOL.

I love my rolling cart, but it's heavy and doesn't handle stairs as well as something like this.

I second the details part! What does it look like folded up? Do you have a central foam insert so that everything stays stable and you just open and go or do you have another bag to unload into the table? How do you carry it? This looks like such a wonderful and orgaized set up!! I am having issues with organized right now. Not very graceful to stick your own elbow in your paint. Embarassed

You know what happened to me at a party, I picked up my split made from snazaroo and the cake fell in the bucket of water LOL Then I realized I didn't take out the paint off the plastic film on the bottom of the cake, lesson learned Shocked

I've seen something like this before, but I can't remember where. It was either at Bodyssey in Calgary or on this forum though. It's going to drive me crazy until I remember now!

it is a lot like the Artist on the Go tables. I got the second one done except for the legs. I will get those going monday, the entire box on this one weighs only 14 pounds, way happy with that..
Here is what I got so far, Here is the table open without foam cut on this side just yet, I am planning on covering the wood in a resin or just a stain, havent decided, the resin would add about 1-2 pounds more on the weight, But would make for super easy clean up, and would fill any cracks.

My husband is very handy in the house, like replacing roof shingles, resurfacing cement walls and pathways but when it comes to making something like that I don't think he can LOL

Kim, my husband is a plummer Smile that's his lastname lol!

Ok, table number 1, total weight of 34 pounds
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
Table number 2, total weight of 15 pounds : )

[img][/img]
and it will fold and roll as soon as I get the wheels and braces on it..
The first one is great and way sturdy, may be a good at home table for clients that come here... Or I may just sell it, don't know...lol

So, how long did it take to make & are you planning on streamlining them? I'm betting you could sell them!

Thanks guys, We are in process of crunching the numbers to see what the cost is and time to build one. The first one I may as well say took 4 months... a lot of trial and error, the second on took an afternoon, so we are getting quicker...lol
There seems to be a big demand for an low cost effective solution to paint storage and set up, We may offer a few versions of it, and perhaps a pre cut build it yourself kit for you more crafty ones out there....
I am gearing up for the east coast convention, so I will know more in about a week...

It looks awesome!

Would you please share where you get the (elevating) wheels/legs from? or what they are called?

Yes! And pretty please consider making PDF's available for sale with instructions. That would be almost no cost or effort on your part Very Happy
