That's not a bad idea, There is a lot I am going to add to the 2nd table, it will have rods on the back 2 corners for a vinyl sign display, I am working on a carrying case, as well as a sliding table inset that will fold out and double the space on any one side.. It will be pretty neat. Hope to have it done by the end of the week, I think I may be able to take it to the east coast convention with me.

Again,

A free list of all the supplies and detailed instruction on building one is totally fine. Promoting the sell of these is not.

Thanks so much for your understanding.

Re: I made a folding / rollin table : )

This really has me thinking. I need something similar, but with drawers that slide out rather than a table that folds inward. I love my rolling cart because nothing needs to be packed up or removed when I want to leave. I just roll it to the car and lift it in, palette on top, brushes in holders and everything. However, it's hampering my ability to drive anything other than a minivan since the cart is so tall. If I could find a drawer unit and add folding legs to it like this, it would be so perfect! It could be made tall enough for me to work while standing, and then the legs would collapse or fold in to store in a car trunk. Thanks for these great ideas P&G!

I feel we need to realize how unfair it would be to assume that P&G would work for months on this and then offer to give it all away for free. I hope I haven't stepped on to many toes, but I feel we all need to do a reality check on this one before we all get upset.

I'm hoping that she will take some time to come up with clear instructions for those of us who don't know how to navigate Home Depot. Then EBay or Etsy to the rescue!

Considering that the already made tables cost $500 plus shipping, it would totally be worth at least $75 for the instructions in PDF format. Lots of pictures and "laywoman's" terms needed.

Then she doesn't need to worry about paying convention vendor fees and she doesn't have to deal with inventory or any of that jazz Smile

Can't wait to see the developments of this, P&G!

Again, I truly did not mean to post this as an item we plan on selling, this is something my husband made me. When everyone loved it so much, I admit we are thinking about at some point maybe offering them, but right now we don't have the true total cost and time it takes to make the thing..lol
I would also be glad to let people freely know about the construction, because after all it essentially a box with legs
(I am not doing rocket science here..lol) but were all friends here and I do not ever want to step on any toes ( too small a community for that) .
I will be glad to post a photo with some details as soon as it is complete to help yo do it yourselfers...

Much Love

Metina, as a fellow forum administrator (not face paint related), I totally understand the time, energy, money and heart that it takes to run a forum! It is a tremendous amount of effort and I hope you will be able to get as much compensation as possible, wether via FPF shop sales or advertising fees because it will still unlikely cover what you put in. I am so thankful for this forum!

Angela -- I think your table is fantastic and look forward to you posting the details of materials and construction. Not sure if I'd make one but it would be nice to see how it's done... Thanks for sharing!

I'm worried it will be too heavy. I'll have to do a conversion to work out what 14 pounds is in kilos.
As I dont drive a car to every gig - i'm scared to give up my little roll away table in a bag to end up lugging around a very hefty table..... even on wheels this wouldn't work for me if I have to get the train and have to take 5 flights of stairs to get into the party venue.
I was thinking about constructing one out of perspex.. so it's light and cleans well... still working on this concept.

This is what happens when my husband gets a hold of power tools...notice his ring finger. tongue He cut it off by accident 3 weeks after getting a table saw, while renovating our bedroom closet...he was cutting a stir stick! I shudder anytime I hear a power tool start up. Yesterday he was using a friend's chain saw...ack!

The nail polish is compliments of our daughters...he's a great sport king

Wow Magna, that must have been scary!! I'm surprised it was his ring finger... usually it's the finger on the end that gets it. I'm terrified of cutting off a finger with our table saw. It doesn't keep me from using it, but I do have a very healthy fear!

Well the ring kind of got caught and 'ripped' his finger off, and the blade mostly cut off his thumb (it was successfully reattached) and across the other fingers. The pinky was all that was really spared. Sorry if that's a bit graphic!

He learned his lesson though...he took safety classes from the shop teacher at the school he teaches at afterwards. He has a good attitude. As long as he can still play catch with his kids he doesn't much mind. Losing a hand would be a tragedy, losing a finger is a conversation piece. He goofs with his students with it. He'll 'wiggle stumpy' on the overhead and see if they notice. He says teaching fractions is easier too. LOL. On the way to surgery he told me to be sure and thank those that helped out and we'll have them over for 'finger food' when he's better. The nurse told me it was just the shock talking...I said, no he's always like that. Very Happy

I love that he has such a sense of humor about it!!

OUCH about the ring ripping the finger off. Shocked My husband is a machinist and they are not allowed to wear rings or necklaces at all in the shop for that very reason.

Yeah...he gets that now! He went into the local hardware store while still in a sling etc asking for a guard for the blade...they said 'isn't it a little late for that?'...

Magna, I love his sense of humour! Very Happy

Angie, my husband is a machinist also and has never worn any jewelry or even a watch, for that reason. He used to have longish hair... till one day he got too close to a spinning part and it ripped out half his hair (literally, the entire right hemisphere of his head was bald). Now he keeps it very short. And is very thankful that it only ripped out his hair rather than the alternative of pulling his head in. (BTW, he admits it was his own fault; he should have shut the machine down.)

We had our rings tattooed on (WAY before Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee made it trendy thanks) so we can never just slip them into our pockets *wink* But come to think of it, I guess he could just cut his finger off...
