I'm baaaccckk!! And I have a question

Post by Bec on Thu Jan 06, 2011 10:57 am

My husband got me a Fat Max for christmas and I"m really trying to fit as much as possible inside that thing so I have less to carry. My menu board now is a science project board and its a mess from over use.

I am wanting some sort of baseball card/chart thingee to hold smaller pictures and that can be hung up and then stored inside the fat max. Any suggestions??

I was thinking more like a hanging display thing.

I bought this teacher's chart on www.amazon.com for about $20. It folds up great but I don't put it in my fatmax because I don't want to damage the photos. I have a lot of stuff in my fatmax Very Happy I just carry it in my shoulder bag with other paperwork.

I hang this on a clothing rack with clear shower curtain rings. It can also just hang from a fireplace mantle or anywhere in a house too when you don't have room for a rack. The photos are about 4 x 5".

You can find pocket charts at school supply stores. Those can be folded and come in an assortment of sizes and colors. (Google "pocket chart".) You could also work up a design featuring choices you want to offer, and have it printed onto a poster or banner that could be rolled up and stowed in your cart. They make stands that stretch out banners, but fold up for storage, if you go that route. You'd need to stick with the same designs though until you order a new one, since you can't change out the photos.

I have waterproof outdoor banners printed from VistaPrint. You can't change out the photos, but with all the constant discounts they offer, it's quite inexpensive to get another banner. I put grommets in the corners and hang it with shower curtain hooks or baby toy links from the top of my tent. They roll up and fit right into the bottom of the fatmax.

I am loving these, thinking of getting some:

They have an eBay store too:

Here's an example (they have lots of different sizes, I think this is the biggest one):

Both of those are exactly what im looking for. I change my pictures A LOT so I don't want anything permanent. CATZ- do you have trouble with the pics falling out since its only half a pocket?

I got the idea from JBax to use a "over the door" shoe holder. I use that sometimes.

Not really. The challenge is people sometimes take the cards out, but not too often. I kinda like that it's easy to take out in the case it's a design I don't do as often and can reference my own work LOL.

I fold it accordian style an then across loosely so it doesn't 'crease'. That way it fits almost anywhere. It's also something for kids to look at while I'm setting up (I put it up first) so they have some ideas of what they want and what's possible. I change the photos depending on the situation. If it's a festival and time is precious I only put in fast designs. If it's a girls party and we have lots of time I put in more elaborate girl designs. It's so easy to switch around. I print my own photos, but you can easily cut down a 4 x 6 to fit too. I like to add a 'title' at the top so they can just say the name and I know what it is. Saves time from them pointing or trying to explain it.

I had to read this twice. Pregnant with a 2 and 4 yo? That would leave some serious stretch marks! LOL LOL

That seems perfect for PPF events, but don't you need something that stands on its own for a private party? how would you stand it up?

Re: I'm baaaccckk!! And I have a question

Post by Bec on Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:54 pm

I was thinking it could hang off of my fat max. I just really really HATE carrying around that stupid board. The pictures fall off, and it gets all bent up. It falls over if I'm outside.

Any other suggestions of ways to display? I'm goin nuts over here trying to spend less than $20 on this stupid thing. lol.

I know for my banners, at parties I roll them out on the floor sometimes and the kids crawl all over them like a big game of twister Very Happy But then, a clown party with face painting is probably a little different than a regular party with face painting.
