I suck at flowers!

I suck at flowers... any help would be appreciated... I can do the petals with one stroke, but I never quite know how to make the centre look and my outline always looks lame... Help me Please!

Hey Shelley, have you got any pics of your flowers. So maybe we could suggest some tips. I use a awesome brush I got from Amy Grigg & it paints flowers beautifully everytime. Here's a link of it.

A drop of glitter for the centre or even the outline looks lovely.

I never outline my flowers.... I've tried it a couple of times but never like the finished result. I just double dip for the petals and then use another colour for the center.
I agree it would help to see our work the flowers you are trying to do are probably more complicated then mine.



Do you mean flowers like this? Or were you going for more realistic ones?

HA! I started the same topic!! Whoops. I searched for flower topics earlier and didn't find any. We must have ben thinking the same thing at the same time.

How I do flowers, I like to keep the petals seperate and maybe only just touching in the center. I always seem to fill with dots.. 2 or 3 depending on the size of the flower. And then a dab of glitter.

These ones I put a few extra spike coming out of the middle too.

just remember...when making a flower like a hybiscus, wiggle your brush when making the petals:)

i like to use an abc that has black on the outside for most of my flowers...

I am going to practice different flower petals...love these! poinsettias, roses, daisies, mums...all different.
