Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
Which pink to buy. Its the big questions that keep me up at night? Snaz sparkle, Kryolan, Paradise, tag, DFX? Anyone have a plethora of pinks that has a preference? I actually love my Snaz so am leaning towards that..haven't been too stoked with my few TAG paints, am really curious about Paradise and have just ordered the paradise black.. what is your pink and purple butterfly go to? Cause just occasionally I get asked for a pink and purple butterfly...
Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
I was really disapointed in the Paradise orange, It was quite dull compared to DFX or Wolfe,...but the Paradise light pink is very pretty. It is slightly darker (more fushia) than the Wolfe Pink, but I think the Wolfe is easier to work with,...it doesn't gum up like the Paradise can, if I'm using a brush...fine with sponge though.
My fave paints are Wolfe!!!!!,,,.... DFX and Tag are beautiful on the face, I just have more trouble cutting a spilting these to make rainbow cakes....I love Rainbow cakes.

I really love the color of my pearl pink from TAG. It's my go-to color for pink "lipstick" It's not as opaque as the regular pink but of course it has that pretty shine.
Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
I think I'm doing something wrong with Tag. I like the white for line work and dots but I got some for a job last week and I found it didn't work for me as a sponged on base - kinda patchy - so I'm thinking I'd struggle with the pink too till I get more skills!
Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
i like the diamond fx metallic pink as is does great lips..the purple metallic is a bit dark but pretty..doesn't look good on everyone..me lol
diamond fx i think has a fushia pink and a reg pink..not sure..

I have the snaz sparkle pink and lavender very pretty together but just for bases. and the dfx metallic red (it is more fushia), good for bases and some line work. I am still looking for the perfect pink. Maybe the regular tag pink?

Did somebody say tackle tart? I resemble that statement!
I think that you should 1) always lean towards what YOU love, because you have to put up with it's little quirks everytime you use it, and 2) consider what your primary purpose for it will be.
If you plan to use that pink primarily for base work or work that will need to be blended, I'd opt for the glycerin based paints (Snaz, Paradise, Kryolan). If you are going to primarily use it for line work or any type of painting that requires it to sit on top of paint without absorbing the colors below much, I'd go with a beeswax based paint (Tag, Diamond, Wolfe...except their metallics are pretty much all creamy and VERY blendable).
I personally prefer Kryolan and Paradise as bases for children with DFX o r TAG for linework because of the blendability (of the former) and the tendency of the latter to tighten on skin as it dries. But that's just me and how I choose to work...once you figure out what will work for you...hopefully you'll be able to take a little of my ramblings and run with it.
I would suggest... one (or two or four) pink from each formulation type that way you can have both types at your disposal...but I'm a tackle tart and taking advice from moi will only propel you further down the road of tackle-tart-dom

Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
I use primarily DFX for bases and line work.....as Jayde said you learn to work with your brand of choice. I can blend DFX with no problem and it makes for very clean crisp lines. Because they are so highly pigmented I love you can get alot of color without alot of paint. The metallics are off the chart gorgeous.
When working on very small children I just apply a fast base of metallic silver first which seems to prevent any staining.
I have DFX pink, neon pink, metallic pink, and neon magenta which is a beeeeeeeeautiful color OMG!!! I have starblends pink which I love, and I have a kryolan pink and UV pink which I have not used yet. I just recently got a split pot of the snaz sparkle lilac/sparkle pink. I figured this way if I am not that jazzed about it, it wasn't that much of an investment.

Snaz Sparkle Pink -- Love it!
I personally can't live without Snaz Sparkle Pink for bases. It blends beautifully and looks great on little girls! I pair it with the sparkle lilac as well. Also the Wolfe Metallic Red looks very dark pink and I love that as well. I use it to create pink flowers or details over the sparkle pink base.
Here is a butterfly with sparkle pink and sparkle lilac!

Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
No question about it! Pink is the all time favorite for girls! RIGHT AFTER RAINBOW!
My pinks are: Starblend, Kryolan and Snazz. I love the powdered Starblend color. The dry but highly pigmented color can go from sheer to deep adding dimension to your work. Also, as many can tell you, there are some people who want to be painted but can't handle the 'wet face' experience. I use Kryolan pink as a base. Kryolan pints are great for sponging but not much else. Their colors are gorgeous.
Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
I have Paradise light and dark pink, snaz sparkle pink and DFX metalic pink.
my fav is definately the DFX, it's awesome... but it is very heavily pigmented, so I always put silver underneath. I agree that the snaz sparkle pink is better for bases as it's lighter but it depends what you are doing with it.
This was DFX metalic pink... although this little girls skin color doesn't help to show the color so well.... I need to do the design on my daughter....

I know this seems like a strange question - but does anybody recognise this design? I can't remeber where I got it from or if I came up with it....
I think it might be a combination of things I have seen but if you do recognise it can you please tell me where you saw it - i get asked a lot to share this design and I would like to give credit........ I would like to think I came up with it.... you would think I would know right? *sigh*

Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
I use Snaz bright pink and light pink for just about everything. I do want to try metalix pink for lips but just haven't gotten around to trying any yet.
Re: Calling all tackle tarts...pink pink or pink??
Um, I'd say.... Yes, Yes, Yes & Yes
I find I like different pinks for different things. My favorite doggie tongue is Wolfe Metallic Red(that is more of a pink). My favorite "blush" for the little girls is a Snaz Sparkle that Shannon sent me & is discontinues. I love pairing Paradise Light Pink with Paradise Orange..... and the list goes on & on... You did ask a Tackle Tart ya know
