Thanks Kristal! I'm a cart freak, so you know I obsessed over it. The sides are plexiglass and have held up great with just clear packing tape at the seams. I lift it into my minivan standing up, and bungee cord it to the side handle. It fits into the cozy spot where one of the back seats has been moved forward, so it's snug and doesn't move around. I do have to take the chair off to put it in the van since it's too tall. The cart might be heavy for some people to lift. I slid it up my knee as I am lifting and have no problems, though. My drawers are full of things like gems, feathers, extra cakes, postcards, "idea" sheets for new designs, etc. I keep my camera in there for easy access, small snacks like Slim Jims, things like that.

Thanks for sharing those pics Angie, I love your set up! Later when I have some extra money I may do something similar. Right now what I use is working alright.

I put my paint pallets in one of those cabootle tackle boxes and then found this great roll travel bag at Walmart for $20 that has lots of pockets on the outside..so I pack everything in that and then I have my red rider with all terrain wheels Very Happy to put that and my table and stools in, I bungie it all in and roll away. It works for now but I really like your cart....it seems so much more easy and a quick set up.

Ooh, I looked again, and saw a sign in the bottom section - your "Sorry, I am closing" one - is that just a laminated sheet? Does the last person wear it?

I really do love your cart - but my hopes were mildly dashed when I read that it stands up in your van, haha - no way could I stand a cart up in my car! And the heavy thing. My ICBC claim could fall to pieces Razz

Is that an aluminum chair? Bet it's a heck of a lot lighter than my wood one...

I should retitle this thread "Picking Angie's Brain," haha Very Happy

Yay WalMart! I bought a great electrician's bag there last month, glued gems on it, and it's now my balloon bag. I've never spent so much time in hardware departments, haha.

Hahaa... that's what I want too! I was thinking more of a chuck wagon, but that works too. Razz But can you imagine buying something like that, and then watching hundreds of thoughtless people trampling through it at every event? Eek!

Hey, sorry it took me so long to get back with you - had a trip out of town this weekend. That sign is attached to a rope with a heavy duty magnet at each end, and when I need to close my line down, I put one magnet on one side of my tent, and the other on the other side, and it effectually ropes off the entrance. Works great! People do slip under it but I usually catch them. Evil or Very Mad

The chair is aluminum and I love it! I can literally pick it up with one finger, it's so light.

I've got two of those aluminium chairs - love 'em. I use them for theatre and make-up gigs though, not FP... they bring adults up to working level but not kids.

Re: New Kit Needed!

Post by Joanne on Thu Jul 16, 2009 12:24 am

I use a Zuca tote. I love it!!! It was recommended to me by Jodi Carr. It has a second set of wheels that make it easier to go up and down stairs. I have had mine for years. They are expensive. I paid $150 for mine but three years later it broke because my kids love to roll it (has light up wheels) and they constantly drop it. They sit on it and we ride from the car to the doorway. The company replaced it entirely because of the lifetime warranty. They even replaced the bag insert with a new one of my choice. In the long run, it's worth it. It also serves as a seat that can hold up to 400lbs. If I get caught without my chair, in a pinch I can sit and have the kids stand up and I paint them that way. I have a lot of stuff and they have a back pack that attaches to it for more storage. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

Angie,

If you still reading this post...where did you buy your cart? I really like that 'instant table' all inclusive cart. It'd be perfect for a few of the gigs I have coming up! Very Happy

Hi Heather, it's made from a couple of different carts, but you could make something similar from a shelving unit found at Lowe's in the organization section. Just cut it down to the size you need, and add wheels, and tada... instant FPing cart. :-)

Hi Joanne

What style of Zuca tote is the most practical for fp... sport, artist, pro. Did you also get the artist backpack?

It looks like the pouches are like drawers. Do they just sit on top of each other or are they sitting on their own rail?

Photos anywhere?

Post by Kimmari on Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:51 pm

I can't see any of Angie's photos... do you still have them? My daughter and I are newbies and want to walk along a parade route, so we are looking for a mobile cart.

AngieAnders wrote:Thanks Metina, and what a great deal to get one for $20!! Here are some "detailed" pics of my cart so you can see all the features. I really love it. I stand to paint so I needed something taller than a tool box provides, and wanted it to be pretty much an "instant" working station.

I don't remember what Angie's photos were like - but for something to walk along a parade route you might want to consider something like a stroller or a mobility walker - you could outfit it to hold signage and all your materials securely, but it can also roll quickly and stand still by itself (and a mobility walker has brakes). I've found several of them at local thrift stores.

At Joanns they have a mobile art box that has a bottom and canvas pouches. http://www.joann.com/organizing-essentials-stor-n-roll-cart-blue/zprd_02265411a/
It was like this but had a storage wrap with a lid.
