First from the midle east?

Post by CottonCandy on Sat Feb 12, 2011 12:24 pm

Hey Razz

Im a 12 year old from Qatar who just started facepainting.. not a complete noob..but still a noob I would say.
I bought the snazaroo begginers kit, cut one of the sponges to make a wedge and bought a few extra colours. I always try on my cousins / my lil bro all aged from 3-6 and sometimes myself if I cant find anyone to practise on. Any tips on what kind of brushes I should buy? And a few begginers tips or sth?

Hello Cotton Candy! Welcome! You may find EVERYTHING and way more than you ever thought there was to know here! If you look at the 'search' area on the upper right of the screen and type in 'brushes', everything you need! AND there is a beginners section when you use the 'home'! There are just tooo many opinions, sides, and brushes for anyone to answer such a broad question base. Be prepared to be on this site ALOT! I'm only 3 months 'old' to face paint but I've learned sooooo much from this site!

Look forward to seeing your progress!

Hello and welcome =) How is it with getting facepaint job in the Middle East? I know a guy from Iran and I had a serious hard time explaining the concept to him. But the kids here from the Middle East really love it.

Hi Cotton Candy! Welcome to the forum! We have a few teens that pop in on occasion & my daughter started face painting when she was 12(she's 17 now). She's taken up henna now & loves it!
I agree, search the forum for all your questions. A lot of the answers will have to be applied to where you live what you can get. If you have a store that sells art supplies you'll probably find good brushes there. Or try ordering online.

Wow, welcome! I would be so interested in hearing what the reception to such a "western" concept (as face painting) would receive where you live. But then again, modern face painting may be "western", but I bet that original face painting, in some form, had some kind of beginning at the heart of civilization, where you are! Do you have an American audience?

My best advice... spend the hours to read all the posts here (esp. the "General", "Newbie", and "How'd you Do that"? forums). Then practice a ton. And then RE-read all the posts - you will be surprised how much you pick up then! It will take a substantial time investment, but that investment PAYS OFF quickly! Then, come back and teach US Smile

Good for you for being so entrepreneurish (not a word, eh?)!!!
Warm regards from PA,
Barbie

Thanks everyone Very Happy

@lonewolf, there are loads of ppl that do facepainting here, theyre usually party planners or sth that put ads in the news and sometimes ppl in malls. But theyre not really proffesional or anything, I've tried one once.

@psalmbook haha yeah, ive noticed thst evryone here's way older than me xD I've tried henna before, its cool, the fact that it stays for a long time Cool

@barbiesmith not realy actually since I haven't done anything to the public-well not yet anyways. And facepainting is actually done here as a said before, but theyre not proffesional but I dont think lots ppl here would actually buy some paints and learn how to facepaint.. and thanks for the advice Wink
