Awsome Angie lol, we should just start advertising this lol. You'd think even any FP would take this into consideration you know. Not to use acrylics to paint on ANYONE, especially if you want to be considered a professional in this business then you need to have the best materials. maybe not the best but atleast cosmetic face paint.

Thank you Sophie for doing what you did and allowing us to utilize the photos. Prayerfully with all of us who feel strongly about this will use this to our advantage and hopefully change the minds of some painters to step up to better products as well as some consumers not to accept just any ole thing.

If you use acrylic paint for face painting and the person has a reaction and decides to sue you then what??? Even if you carry insurance (everyone should), you will not be backed by the makers of the acrylic paint because it clearly states that it is for crafts and not for the skin. At least with the FDA approved face paints you have something to back you up. Enjoy face painting but remember safety and the child's welfare should come first.

Wow! I've been so busy I totally missed this thread! Thank you Sophie for taking one for the team! Yikes, I react to so much naturally that I couldn't imagine risking acrylics on my face. I wonder what your face would have been like if you'd walked around all day in the scorching heat with that on....

This is a great thread. I've been out of pocket for a while and I'm working on my website. Thanks for The sacrifice. It looked uncomfortable.

I know this was a while ago, but I used Sophie's photo on my website:

And I disagree wholeheartedly with use of acrylic paints on skin, it has plastic in it! That stuff is supposed to last for years on a piece of artwork, not on a child's face!

It never even occurred to me that people would consider it acceptable... That and it doesn't look good, you can't blend it in the same way... Why would anyone want to use it?
