Saskatchewan newbie

Post by Gr8ful on Wed Mar 09, 2011 6:27 pm

Hello everyone. I hail from Saskatchewan, Canada and I am an amateur face painter. I have been painting children's faces (volunteer) for a local non profit for about 6 years and occasionally volunteer for other functions as well. I do cheeks mostly but would like to expand my skills so I decided to pursue it a bit more seriously. I am not very good at uploading pictures but will try to get at least one scanned and posted.

I am looking forward to meeting you all. Very Happy

Thank you so much for the warm welcome everyone. Smile Kim in Wpg, I found your site first and was absolutely wowed by your work. I am originally from the 'Peg and still have family there.

I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone and trying to improve on my craft. So far, it's only been volunteering for the kids on my school bus and the Parent & Tot program in Saskatoon but I just ordered a bunch of paints from Dotsy's because I have had so much trouble getting decent colors in Saskatoon. Just because I volunteer to do it doesn't mean I shouldn't use decent paint. I just wish I would have had pictures taken all these years.

Hartelijk groeten van uit Saskatoon Nancy and thanks for the compliment about my screen name. Very Happy I always try to keep an attitude of gratitude. By the way, my family is originally from Bedum, Groningen and stad Groningen. Unfortunately I am not fluent or even close so I had to get one of my Dutch born sisters to tell me how to say that.

Thanks everyone. I really feel welcome and I appreciate that! I am so inspired by all of you and what I might learn as well as offer. Yay!

I have a free marketing opp tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes. It is an all-day conference for Learning and Literacy. I will take pics of anyone I paint even though my kit is pretty skimpy. My favorites are the Snazaroo white cake because it blends so nicely, the Wolfe palette (sp?) that is almost empty (came with a book) and the Disguise Stix because they were the closest to decent paints I found here in my area.
