So I got a Wolfe fx Gift Card...

Post by BluAngL83 on Wed Mar 23, 2011 3:24 pm

Hi Guys,

My sister bought me a $100 Wolfefx gift card for christmas. I loved her for thinking of me but at the same time i was a little perplexed why she bought that particular brand. It so happens that around that time, I kept talking about the Wolfe brothers, so i guess she googled wolf and face paint and BAM got wolfe fx, lol. Well im not a wolfe fp user other that black & white so thought id put this up for discussion:
Should I A) buy some wolfe paint or mainly appetizers (palletes) or B) put it on the swap shop?

btw...what are the dimensions of the appetizers?

You lucky duck, my sister bought me clothes.
If it were me, I would buy a couple appetizers just to try out their other colors, stock up on black and white, and put whatever is left in the swap shop.

Ummm... although I'd love to take it off your hands, I'd have to suggest that you use it to at least buy a couple metallics to try them out and then if you hate them, (I doubt that), put the remainder up on the forum shop. I'm betting you'll end up spending the whole thing after you try them. Even though Wolfe can be difficult for blending, the uses for it are amazing. The color quality and shiny effect are awesome. Hope you love what you get. Oh, and if you really are scared of committing, they sell a $6, 6 color essentials set in their novelties section that you should try at the very least.

I use Wolfe like... 70% of the time when painting, there isn't anything wrong with it!

What a nice gift! I like Wolfe, the metallix are great.

My daughter bought the 12 essential colour palette appetizer quite a long time ago... now that it's empty, I used it to make small splits, it's perfect.

It sounds like you are buying the appetizer refills?

I would buy a whole lot of cakes to try and then make splits.
If you get them and don't like them - I'm sure we will help you out in moving them!

I always use my empty appetizers as splits so no help with that here. Can I ask why you want appetizers and not full cakes?

Hey Blu I turned my whole wolfe 12 color palette and my 6 color metallics palette into splits.......soooooo if your are buying appetizers are you thinking of selling the individual pots as replacements for those of us who have them???

No, lol, I just got the idea from Heff about making a kit with just appetizers or refills...but im into square rather than circle so I thought if there were any empty ones out there i'd love to take 'em off your hands so i can put more colors into them. Very Happy

Lucky you!
I'm agreeing on doing the appetizer(or stock up on white & black).
They do make great splits!

Anyone willing to sell me their empty appetizers? Anyone?

Or do you know where I can find a similar sized pot? Thanks!

I have about 5 wolfe 12 color appetizers that I've had a few years now. they still have paint in them, I find Wolfe just lasts and lasts for me. I take them to jams when a small kit is desired or in case a newbie would like to try Wolfe or someone needs paint. I also use them when I teach classes at my clown alley or conventions for people who didn't bring paint and decided last minute to join the class.

I love these little palletes. They're really great for quick cheek or eye designs; I keep the palette in my hand and brush in the other and I just stand and paint. Don't really have any empties yet though.
