I made small splits in the lids of my DFX pallet then hot glued them to the pallet lid.some are the small DFX splits also,if I have too much water on my brush it goes into the lid in the DFX case there wasn't any were for the water to go.It doesn't close all the way so I put bubble wrap in between.

done with my baby cakes....lmao
just an old eyeshadow case with 12 spots and a mirror in the lid not very deep but thats kinda the purpose the dragon above didnt even put a dent in it...just shaved a lil bit here n there rolled into lil strips with wax paper (lil rollin a cig) put the lil bitty rolls side by side in the tiny lil spaces...lol

Hadn't thought of rolling with wax paper. That is a great idea for all my left over bits of paint!! yay!

Baby cakes. Awesome idea to make use of the little bits of leftover paint! I'd been putting bits in one of those pill box containers and having multiple colors to do dots and double-dip flowers. Kept my big containers cleaner. May have to rethink and try your idea.

I recently decided to make a travel kit when I had to leave my kit at home for our trip over the holidays. Our car was stuffed with Christmas presents, snow clothes and regular luggage. It just wouldn't fit and now I haven't painted for weeks!

Re: Mini travel paint set

Post by squiggle on Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:02 pm

I just made up a mini kit today after really needing one yesterday! I had painted at a restaurant's Grand Opening of their play place and packed up my big kit in my fat max and loaded it in my car. My family and I were eating at the restaurant (courtesy of the owner) and one of the waitresses asked me if I could paint a couple of little tiny girls who had come late. I wish I had had a mini kit because those little girls were cutey pies and would've made some awesome pics for my website! LOL

So today I took an old DFX pallet that was nearly empty and put a few splits and solid colors along with a #3 and #1 round and a 3/4" flat brush, and found an old makeup bag and put in a few sponges, a small poofer of white glitter, a tiny spray bottle, and a zip-lock bag of babywipes... I'll keep those in my purse so I'll be ready for any future face painting requests!

Thank you so much for sharing Squiggle - your little kit sounds perfect! Cool

I'd love 2 have a kit small enough that I could take everywhere I go. Sure I read that you can cut the handles of your brushes down so they fit into a mini kit - has anyone here done that???
