Overcoming my own butterfly...
I actually love butterflies.
Love love love them with a passion. I use them all the time in designing my stuff for my business and they show up a bunch in my artwork.
I despise how I put them on faces though. I want a very certain shape and I don't usually attain it.
Michelle G laughs at me. "How can you be painting this long and don't have a butterfly you like?"
Yes, this is true.
So, in the spirit of actually improving this year, along with my skull, I am now getting to a butterfly I like.
I really like this one.

Hooray for getting somewhere early in the year!
The last butterfly I liked

Let the butterfly love commence! XD

Re: Overcoming my own butterfly...
I just recently changed my butterfly designs too... I was inspired by Angie's beautiful purple one and I'm much happier with them now. Although, when I did a few at my last party, I made the top wings more flat on top and I liked that a lot.

I love your butterfly, it's beautiful!!
I'm new to face painting, although I don't get to practice much, the girls always love the butterfly designs I paint on them...thank goodness!

Great butterflies! Here's some of mine... I'm still not fully satisfied, but when it comes to butterflies I'm thinking in 2 minute increments w/ a long line in wait

Re: Overcoming my own butterfly...
I love your butterfly design over the one eye. It really draws you into her eyes. I haven't tried the one eye design yet so thank you for the inspiration.

I like your butterfly very much Ambermarie.
I learned to cross the eyebrow in the middle on the way up for the butterfly to look pretty, but when I see the butterflies in this thread there are many that cross the eyebrow more at the beginning and I like that ones too!

You know, I have a very similar problem. I've painted a large variety of butterflies over the years and have never been 100% satisfied. Of course, this is probaby another instance of me being my own worst critic, but I haven't even taken a pic of any of my butterflies for my board because I don't want to be stuck doing the same butterfly over and over if I don't like it.

I'll have to try the crossing the eyebrow in the middle part & see if I like it. My eyebrows are pretty prenounces, so I like to cover them up
Re: Overcoming my own butterfly...
Love them both Amber Marie! I am also never happy where to cut the line for the upper wings, the eyebrow thing drives me crazy.
Great butterflies everyone.
Suzy, I love that group photo, it is great!

I love what you've come up with. Here are my favorite butterflies that I've done. I can't really pick one yet.
