How to Get Practice?

Post by SillyIzzy on Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:46 am

Hi everyone, I just had a quick question. I've been in need of some major practice since I've been withdrawn from painting for a while. I was wondering, how do you find kids to paint on? Obviously I have myself, but it's just not enough for me. I need another child. How do you all find kids?

P.S. My brother won't let me do it on him. Sigh. Sad

Do you have friends who work at kid-centric business? Daycare? After-school program? Children's museum? Pick their brains to find out who is in charge and who you can approach about offering a gratis face painting session.

I'm a big fan of a sunny day and painting in a public park for free, check your local laws. Where I live, we also have very liberal busking laws and I can literally set up on a sidewalk downtown and paint for tips.

I googled "virginia beach busking law" and got this article which might help:

I practiced on myself and only myself for a very long time, made it all the easier when I actually got to paint someone else. Don't worry about paint on another person just yet.. just paint yourself once a day and you'll improve more than you can imagine!

You can definitely paint yourself, also, I noticed you are 14? Some of my most enthusiastic volunteers are teens. Tell about 4 friends that you want them to come over for a painting party and you will make them gorgeous! They will come. Make sure to take several pics of them too. The kiddos at my church love to come over to get painted too. If you have a church, you could put the word out there. Very Happy
