Made my first one strokes and first attempt at the rose

Post by eva on Mon Apr 18, 2011 10:21 am

I had a coupon for 50% at michaels so I bought a small snaz palette, and make some small splits, and my first attempt at a one stroke rose.

Ok, so this is another first..I couldn't figure out how to upload the video here, so I did my first you tube video. Please keep in mind that my 8 year old is the camera man, poor lighting, and bad angles, but I hope you can get the jist from watching. I may try again on another day I have more time.

Awesome Melinda. If you get a chance can you post some pics of how those color combos work out. Some of mine aren't so good... I may redo some of them. I went today and used two 50% and got the tulip silver and neon yellow. I think I have all the ones that don't stain now. I found exactly what I wanted for a case for my paints too, but it was in this combo thing and it was too expensive for just wanting part of it, so now I am on the look out.

Eva, I went to Michaels today and also got the silver...with my 50% coupon of course Smile

I think I saw the same thing you saw, lets see...It is a wooden box,(like the one ladyjade uses but bigger) with tons of markers, color pencils, watercolors, etc it was 19.99, is it the same??? I took a pic with my cell phone, I am going to figure out how to post it here, anyone has a clue?

Eva - I love your rose. You know I can paint tons of stuff but for some reason I'm having a hard time with the rose - always have... Your video was great - I'm going to try and mimic your brush strokes when I get home tonight. Thanks!!!

OMG! LOVE! I found some of these Snaz palettes at a Hobby Lobby closeout store for $2.00. I've been wanting to make some splits but was unsure of what containers to put them in because I know that Snaz + Plastic = EEEK! Wink

Uh hello? Just put them in what they came in... and the lid thing covers it good too. Thanks for the idea! Totally gonna copy those beautiful color combos! Smile

uh, yeah, tell me about it! I'm a scrapbooker too and it's like crazy good... they put all the samples they get in from manufacturers or that they have manufactured in house. It's far from me and you've got to be prepared to go and it be a bust or spend a ton-o-money if it's "ON" that day. lol

I always look for paint there... I've even found full Snaz cakes for a buck, and they don't carry full cakes in any store I've ever seen. Smile
