Daizy's Dino & a Dead Fish

Post by Psalmbook on Wed Apr 27, 2011 7:41 am

Yes, I know it's a weird title, but I live a weird life. I finally convinced my aspergers son to let me paint Daizy's Dinosaur(triceratops) design on him(Thank you for the inspiration & I didn't do it justice). I'm almost doe w/ the design & my daughter screams from her bedroom & is yelling at our kitten... We have wall sconce in her room w/ betta fish in them. The cat had leapt up, knocking one down & dumped the fish on the floor. He did not survive. So, my son's crying my daughters angry & the design has tear streaks in it. I comforted him & like a good face painter, got a pic anyways.
Now you know why everything is on my mug affraid

No shading, not complete & sorry no pics of the poor fish.... Crying or Very sad

Aww poor guy...he'll probably never want to be painted again after all that lol
I am sorry to hear about the fish, unfortunately they saw it happen, so you can't just go out and replace it without anyone noticing...

It will be the cats next challenge! I think the design looks great! Makes me curious what the picture you were using for inspiration looks like.

What a good kid though for crying and managing not to completely smear it about!

I've really been wanting to do a triceratops! It's my son's favorite dinosaur and I tried searching the internet but couldn't find a good one and my sketches... have not turned out well. Looking at this design it seems I probably should have kept the horns a little smaller... It's pretty cute 'As Is' but I would love to have seen it with your finishing touches! At least you got a picture!

P.S. Sorry about the fish. I remember being really upset when I was a kid and my baby fish died... though it was a horrible death... eaten by their own mother! Guppies I think.

@FunFactory - My son is 2 and he's only let me do hand designs until this weekend! He let me go right to full face (not cheek). He just nonchalantly said "You paint my face Mommy?" while I was browsing some face paining books. I moved fast to snap it up. He did try to lick some of the paint during application... but overall it was a great experience. Good luck with yours!

Aw, that's sad (the fish) and cute (the triceratops!)... and it looks good even with the tear streaks.

Probably shouldn't admit this but all dead fish and anything small enough in my childhood was flushed... probably shouldn't have been seeing we were on a septic tank.

Great dino despite the fish. We had a complete funeral last time our fish died. The kids were very busy making a cross and a board to place on the 'grave'.

We have an area in our yard where all our pets that went to animal heaven have been buried. My daughter when she was little found a dead butterfly & was so sad, we had to Barry it there as well.
