painting adults?

Post by BILLZILLA on Wed Apr 27, 2011 11:16 am

I spend a lot of my time painting kids, so spider man tigers and butterfly's are no problem! but i fall down a little when it comes to painting grown ups. I have got a party next week and the people there will all be adults would like to know if you had any ideas for good designs so i don't disappoint them.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

BZx

ladies usually want either small eye designs or tigers/jaguars or butterflies .... that's USUALLY it.

guys ... IF they do it at all, tribals, skulls or comic book stuff (Venom, Wolverine, etc.)

I actually do many adults when I do gigs, I offer great selection. Lots of Tribal for the men/teens. ladies love Fairy eyes. I enjoy the adults/teens it allows me a little more play in designs and sparkles.

thanks for your suggestions! i think it may be my confidence more than anything, kids are quite easily impressed adults have more of an opinion. I did a gig for adults once and a guy asked me for the crow i tried my hardest and when it was finished he just looked at it said it was rubbish and went to wash it off. that was a bit hard to deal with.

Don't worry about it Billzilla. I've had that reaction. We can't always be on our game & some requests take planning, not on the spot trial by fire. I do warn a client if I've never painted their request & as if they still want me to try. I'll try goggling on my phone for an image referense. Sometimes it turns out great, sometimes it doesn't(Oh how I HATE Darth Vader)!

Well isn't that freakn' RUDE! I mean, how well could HE paint a crow or anything else for that matter? Some people. Sheesh.

Don't forget that adult women also like a little eye butterfly (in the corner of the eye)

Love the peacock mask! What cake did you use for the center feather?

Gorgeous designs, Rebecca Smile (as always! Very Happy)

I hope the party went okay.

Here are a couple of masks I've done:

And trying to make a man look like a crow 'off-the-cuff' would be very difficult for anyone, I'd think.
