NOVA Director's chair?

Post by Jody Rife on Thu Apr 28, 2011 8:59 am

Has anyone ever tried this chair? It is on sale for under $40 and I am very tempted.

I have one that looks exactly like that but it doesn't say Nova on it... The only problem is that it is a large space in the back their and kids who sit back to far when they first plop down almost fall out... I solved that problem by making a chair cover and it covers that space...

I couldn't pass it up. I did order it along with a Wolfe face painting book. They were also offering a $30 off today if you signed up for an Amazon store card. I do not usually do that but went ahead today. Also got free shipping with Super Savers, my total for the chair and the book was around $25. cheers

That's great!

I have the same style (not that specific brand with the name) - I made a side pocket thing to stash things in (from a dollar store apron), and love the idea of a seat cover to keep small people from falling back and through. I put a 20lb sandbag on one of the bottom supports (between front and back legs) and it keeps still when people are getting in and out.

Great deal!!! It's very similar to the one I have, which I've used for years and still like. The back rest slips off, but I velcroed mine on so I wouldn't lose it. You can't beat that price, congrats!

OK, so I got my chair. I like using it when the child is tall or like age 10 and up. If they are small, I have to still bend over to paint them, hurting my back.

Also, I was at an outdoor event and had it setting on the ground. A little girl about 4-5 got in and when I turned to get paint the chair went backwards! Her butt went through the hole in the back and I grabbed her just before she hit the ground! So, hind site is 20/20. From now on , a small child only gets in if mom or dad are standing right behind them! And I definitely need to rig the back of that chair so the hole isn't so huge!

The chair worked well on hard floor but I'm thinking of mainly sticking with just regular chairs, one for me and one for the customer. Rolling Eyes

Thanks Jody. I've been using folding chairs and was debating a directors chair. Guess I'll pass on this one...

So, how tall are you, Jody?

I am 5'6 , I'm not sure of the chair measurements, can't remember at the moment, maybe it is a little shorter than it should be. I do like using it on tweens-adults but just didn't make a good fit for the munchkins. Maybe it is just my bad posture and I slouch down too much.

Ahhh, ok. I'm 5'2 and have to ask adults and teens to sit in a regular chair instead of my tall stool. LOL! I'm trying to figure out which tall directors chair to buy right now. I think I might go for one without a space in the lower back part. I was considering these:

Yeah Gina, the huge space in the back is a real problem but for the price I paid, I will modify it. Those chairs that you are looking at look really nice. Let us know what you go with and how you like it. Smile
