I have the same problem as you, Jody, with my tall folding chair, I find myself stooping for the little ones. I am the same height as you, my chair seat height is 29". In another thread, Noella told me that for a small child she has them sit on a firm cushion on her director's chair, which brings them up another 2-3". If (when) I get one, I plan to try this.

Gina, I'm the same height. What kind of tall stool are you using now? I used to have an Ikea one but was on the heavy side and was having problems with kids climbing on it and had no way to hold themselves. I change for a Tuscany one and works amazing, super light and there is not space in the back which is awesome, but having problems with adults that are too tall.. If im lucky I can catch them before sitting and ask them to sit on a regular chair..if not I try my best Neutral

I don't know what type of tall stool. It was my DH's for banjo playing but I didn't like it because the little kids just seemed to be balancing and holding on for dear life (there's no back or arms.) I just got this one and have only been able to use it with my daughter. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VZYAF6
I can tell already adults will be too tall for it. It is light and sturdy, but not very compact, even folded up it's bigger than I thought it would be.
