Hi, greetings from the (nearly) sunny province of Ontario!
Hi all,
Thank you for accepting me onto the forums.
I've thoroughly enjoyed and been encouraged by many of your postings since I first discovered this site a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately my computer-tech. skills are sorely lacking and it's taken me this long to realize that my username *isn't* actually the same as my email; but it finally clicked...so I finally clicked...and here I am!
I am a returning face painter - I did face paint, which grew into my own business as "Sunny the Clown," for 8 years, but that ended about 12 years ago when my youngest child was born. I have four children and the two youngest have special needs. At the time of their diagnosis and since then, until recently, I've been a little busy learning all the new 'tricks' of parenting special needs children and how to continue on as a single mum too. My energies have been depleted.
Now things seem to have settled somewhat and the passion I felt before for face painting has returned;those 'creative juices' are wanting to flow once more - and with your help and inspiration I think I'll be able to create even more lovely designs and smiling faces than I've done in the past. It's so exciting to see all the new face-paints and options and products that have been introduced.
I want to keep my new business with the focus on face paint, when I start it up. Before, when it grew, it seemed to take on a life of it's own and expanded to include balloons, magic, gift bags, etc. All fun, but not my 'first love'
SO, this time, I've learned my lesson and want to learn to be the best I can be at that - face painting. (well, maybe I'll include some balloon twisting too?...and glitter tattoos? - they look fantastic!...*sigh* : incorrigible
)
So, thank you again - for all the information and inspiration you've already provided me with and will do in the future. I hope some time to be able to share some little nuggets of my own and to be of help perhaps, if possible, when possible, too.
Now to save my pennies and expand my paint and brush collection. Sooo many beautiful colours and shimmery things!
BTW. Is there an expiration date on face-paints? I've looked but can't find any on my present collection of snazaroo (and they do seem to still work okay...)

Hi, Some of the brands have expiry dates on them. Snaz has a use within 18 months after opening on it. But... I have 8 year old Snaz that is fine (those colours that don't get used...
)
Re: Hi, greetings from the (nearly) sunny province of Ontario!
I think snaz may indeed last forever! It gets dissed alot, but I still likes my snaz! Welcome to the forum my fellow Canuck!

Re: Hi, greetings from the (nearly) sunny province of Ontario!
Thank you so much for the warm welcomes!
I'm looking forward to experimenting again and will get some work posted ASAP... My work in the past hasn't been nearly to the standard of most of the postings I've seen here, but it'll be fun to share with you all for your constructive criticism - I've noticed how kind and encouraging you are, so I'll be relying on that

So much to do and I am hunting through the forums obsessively
Got to learn all about putting up a website and how the new products work and insurance and expectations etc. - things that weren't common or around when I was painting before... and then there's starting up again... making new contacts and bookings...
I'm so glad this forum is here with such supportive people on it!
wish me luck!
