What I do is if I don't like the insert thingy, than I just take it out and use poster tack to keep the paints in place and I also put paints in both sides of the case, so they close on each other. I keep them dry at the end of the gig, so it is not a problem to leave them without a lid, and this makes my footprint way smaller!!

i get the different colors for the different paint i have. My Wolfe paint is in my black palettes and my arty cakes palette is in the blue one etc.

Silly Farm will customize your foam insert for you at no extra charge if you like to mix brands you just tell them how many holes for each brand of paint. Which is nice and metinas mini cakes fit in the arty cake holes really well.

They dont sell DFX so i dont know if they could customize for DFX but they might if you ask.

Just fyi if you wanted to know.

You could also hot glue too Smile and the foam can be easily cut with either a hot stencil cutter or a hole saw drill bit, like the kind for door knobs. Very Happy

I was planning on doing what Lisa Joy Young does here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCra4pPrDsw

She has the Mehron cases (I'll get whatever brand I can get the best price on), and takes out the foam insert so she can fit in all different sizes and shapes of paint.
