Painting a Fatmax?

Painting a Fatmax?
I really need a Fatmax but they are just not pretty! Has anyone ever painted and decorated one? I was thinking, why not spray paint one a pretty sparkly dark purple and add some super-glued giant gemstones to bling it out a bit.
My other option is to use the scrapbooking case on wheels I bought at Michael's today during a 40% off sale. It's really too small and no way to use it as a table but I'm actually looking for a portable anyway since I am tall and want the Fatmax for storage not so much table-top use. I was excited about using the scrapping case and blinging it out with some hot-iron bling transfers then realized there is a rubberized fabric on the reverse side.
I am going to return it...even on sale it was $52 and not nearly as durable or spacious/functional as the Fatmax would be.
Any help or suggestions would be so appreciated!

Re: Painting a Fatmax?
I know someone here painted the fatmax. There must be a thread about it. Maybe someone remembers?

Re: Painting a Fatmax?
Suzy Sparkles spraypainted her fatmax clone, she showed it off in this thread:
http://www.facepaintforum.com/t3631-my-super-fantactic-face-painting-case
I like the idea of putting clear-coat on.
Angela of The Peppermint Pony painted hers, there are lots of pics and explanation in these two threads:

and
http://www.facepaintforum.com/t2896p90-bought-a-new-fatmax-love-it-but#83317
Me, I have a tablecloth that velcros to 2 sides of my table top so people can't see much of the fatmax. I put my dump bucket underneath when I am working and it hides that too.
Hope this helps!!

Re: Painting a Fatmax?
I'd be interested in seeing how her painted kit is holding up now? I've thought of painting it, but didn't want it to bubble or chip. You could order a decal & cover it...
Re: Painting a Fatmax?
anyone tried to remove the Fatmax logo thing on the front it looks like it may pop off but was hesitant to mar it before I get a chance to use it.
Re: Painting a Fatmax?
Thank you everyone for the helpful replies and especially Fabtastic for taking the time to add the linkies! That was so helpful and very appreciated.
Good question! We could always paint, bling or decal over any residual....

I remember that one of the ladies suffered a really bad finger nail break while trying to remove the logo.
Re: Painting a Fatmax?
My husband spray painted mine in December and it looks great. H just did my buisness name and some stars. He had to get a certain type of plastic paint it think, but t it's doable.
Re: Painting a Fatmax?
logo thing was easily removed, if you open the fatmax and look in the interior you will see clips, I used a pair of pliers to pop them off and it's off and my sign is there now
Re: Painting a Fatmax?
Thanks for all the info, now to return the scrapping case and get my own Fatty!
I'll be sure to get plastic-specific paint and to post pics when I'm done!

Re: Painting a Fatmax?
Kryalon sells a plastic spray paint & Suzy says they have a metallic purple that's gorgeous. She painted hers a few months back & it still looks good, no chipping, etc.
Re: Painting a Fatmax?
Awesome, thank you so much - I will definitely look for that!
