Is Fardel Paint Good?
I was looking online and came across a facepaint brand. Does anyone use these? Are they any good? What do they compare 2?
Re: Is Fardel Paint Good?
Yes, yes, Fantasy Worldwide.
It is made in Belgium. A water-based cream and liquid. No water required to activate. Great colours, applies easily (once you get the knack!) and the cream stays tacky (never completely dries) which make the colours brilliant. The liquids do dry to the touch.
I use the creams for body painting all the time - love how they look. Most of the work here http://www.shannonfennell.com/bodypaint1.html is done with Fardel (except for black - I use Tim Gratton for that)

Omg you do some awesome work thanks for sharing. Well I went on ebay and found 12 pots 35gm for $45 will let you know how shipment went : 0 ) Thanks for the review your AWESOME : )
Re: Is Fardel Paint Good?
ebay? Are they new?
The creams can dry out. If the cream has dried out (appears dry, or won't load up on the sponge well) add some distilled water to the jar to fill, let sit over night, the pour off the excess water and put the lid back on. It will be good to go again. The right consistency is sort of like icing or toothpaste, but a little bit looser.
The liquid you can add distilled water to thin them out when they get thick, and shake well.

They are new but the person said something about they buying at an auction where a magic store closed down some of them had airbubbles in them but not dried out. I will definitely do what you said if I come about that problem with them thanks so much so excited can't wait to try : )
Re: Is Fardel Paint Good?
The creams do take a bit of technique to work really well - there is a longer working time BUT there is a point where it starts to lift off as it sets up... practise a bit with them.
I've never heard or seen "air bubbles" in the creams. They are either wet and creamy, or set-up like stiff shoe polish. No idea how air bubbles would end up in them unless maybe they were exposed to extreme variations in temperatures?
Fardel CAN go off... as it is wet it can, if contaminated, grow mould or bacteria. If they smell funny don't use them.

Re: Is Fardel Paint Good?
LOve both Fardel and Fantasy w=Worldwide - I was just talking this week with known painter and instructor Dawn Dewitt and we agreed why we do not use them in our face painting. They dry out too fast. She and I are speed painters who want and can move our lines to make money. They cream based paints get a skin on top and you have to add moisturizer to keep them creamy. And sure they can and do get air bubbles but just stir them. And heck yes Fardel can mold.
But good brands.

Yep!!! Just bought some at FABAIC and love them. They smell horrible, but they are awesome for body work and help to speed the process since the paint doesn't have to be activated.
Re: Is Fardel Paint Good?
Just received them and they were great so excited they have some nice colors probably will get the fluid bottles next great deal on ebay woohoo

I put them in small pill containers to start off.

Re: Is Fardel Paint Good?
Hmm... hope that works. Fardel is sold in screw top jars and bottles and in sealed pumps (like toothpaste pumps) as they are moist. Most leave it in the original containers.
Is that container airtight?
