Deleting photos from your gallery

HI peeps,
I thought I might put up some new pics in my gallery - and delete some old ones which are growing painfull to look at BUT - cannot work it out for the life of me!
Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I just looked at my gallery: when you click on a picture, above it (in the middle) there is a 'field' with 'original picture' on it which you can click. When you click, a row with options appear, 'delete' is one of them. I think that should work. (I didn't try that one)
