Must Haves for Diamond FX

I'm planning on adding a few Diamond FX colors to my palette, finally! What colors can you not live without? Are the metalics worth buying? I definitely want some neons. Let me know what to get!

But the black, white, light green and all the metals are the ones I could not live without.

I bought the metallics on a whim one day and have now replaced them about 3 times over (since Feb). The met purple, pink, green and blue are my most used colours. Amazing for line work.

....but no painter (IMHO) should be without white and black. What else would you do linework with?

Yes. I discovered the met. blue today! WOW. The most amazing coverage I have seen in a metallic.

White and Black go without saying..... I love the metallic purple, green, and blue as well. Go for it. Diamond and Wolfe's yellow are superior I believe and so much cleaner. (Do a half split with the neon and regular yellow like the Wolfe brothers do for amazing results - Metina mentioned previously - and I saw them show and demo in their classes at FABAIC on Saturday.)

I've just seen some DFX rainbow cakes and split cakes for sale over here.
about 50g for £8.00 which is about $13. Not bad value. It is the site someone has already mentioned (Shannon I think) for Grimas rainbow cakes.

I like the DFX white and their metallix silver and gold.

DFX yellow with neon orange is also great for tigers

Besides the rainbow, what are the split pallets that are most used? I use a lot of Pink (Magenta) and white split in quarters. and the metallic green and gold also split in quarters. Then I have a small rainbow with pinks and purples and another with greens and blue.

I have no imagination, but I just ordered a bunch of paint and want to make up some new stuff.

Get ALL the DFX metallics. Awesome. Just wish they did a true mettalic red as like the Wolfe the red isn't, it is pink!! Been renamed I think Bibi said, but still no red.

I use the metallic blue- a lot....5 bodies and counting the last 6 months.

What split cakes you use depends on what you use them FOR.
With me its for crowns & roses (so pinks) dolphins (blues) and leaves. Oh and B&W.

The Diamond FX rainbows are in the US now. And yes, $13 for 50 grams is a huge value. I will have the five choices on the forum shop soon. Will let you guys know.

I like the light (lime?) green, the yellow, the neon mini palette, the metallics (except for silver), the light blue and a 90 gram white : )

The rest are give or take, but I have them all so I could fiddle with splits and "Arty Brush" knockoffs at home : )

Oh and metallic white for blending with other colors - I have seen several say how just mixing it with any of the other colors gives that super-wow metallic sparkly sheen.....silly heather raves on it one of her more recent youtubes.
