Face and body painting one stroke roses

Post by LillyW on Tue Jun 07, 2011 3:30 am

Jinny inspired this one, I did it with a Prisma cake. I really struggled with it.
I perfer to use the DFX ones.

This one was with a ... hhmmmm ... dunno. TAG or a new Arty Cake.

I use it for a gothic dragon. Sorry, can't find a pic right now and don't have the time for facepainting an example.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE it as a 'round the eyes' mask with one stroke roses and a few starbursts.

Those are also great to use where you might just outline in black. It gives a sweet gradient which is more true to life. Wish I had a picture for example, but just next time you do a cat, dog or tiger, use the black/grey for where you would do black and white/grey for where you might do white. It works really well.

Think these may help - this is what Jinny does with the prisma cakes..... the black and white looks really nice done as an adult arm design.... some roses and butterflys with some glitter.... really nice and tasteful.

Wow, those are beautiful - thank you so much for the photos and tips! I love you

I have a little boy visiting tomorrow who always asks to be a tiger, think I will try your tip on him, Metina! Very Happy

How do I learn how to make those gorgeous big roses? Are those cabbage roses? They are stunning and I agree the b/w makes them look so elegant....

Here is a link for a QUICK puppy for squirmies that I do with the Magpie cake. Not that impressive, but it works and is cute.

The Roses are the same ones Donna Dewberry or Rebecca uses. You use a flatbrush for them.

I used it for easy wings. I made a youtube video for Marvelous Masks one-stroke contest. It only took minutes and looks cool. I want to try an angel mask with it.
