Newbie from the uk (England)

Post by xxkerryxx on Wed Jun 08, 2011 5:59 pm

Hello newbie here lol.

I started face painting 26th may 2011 so im very much a beginner.
I have a party snazaroo paint kit. Its my youngest 3rd birthday in August and i thought id get a kit to do the kids at the party. When my kit came i opened it up and haven't put it down since. Due to this my face painting motives are changing ha-ha. I have joined this site and stalked the boards in silence he-he but have learnt so so much. Im really considering it as a career now Smile

About Me
My names Kerry, im 29 yrs old. I've been married to my wonderful hubby for 9 yrs (in June). I have 4 fabby kids, 1 girl aged 11, and 3 boys aged 10,6,2. I am a stay at home mum.

I have worked for a local playgroup Project (which ran 14 groups) for the last 4 years as a play-leader, but due to funding wages stopped in December but some of us stayed on voluntary but unfortunately in April the Project closed completely. So now me and the other Lady that ran our group have continued it independent and of course voluntary. The mums are all supporting us. We only run one group a week but its so different from the other end, i used to turn up do a craft play with kids tidy go home. Now we have constitutions, bank accounts, funding forms etc etc. But im happy to do it.

My other arty/crafty interests that i have are scrap-booking, a little cross-stitch. And my fave Jewellery making.
Well that's Me Smile

Welcome Kerry Smile.
I've been face painting on and off for almost a year. I also became interested after volunteering for a block party. The kids loved it and I really enjoyed it.
I've done two parties after being referred by a friend who insisted I should try to do it on the side as a paying job ( been unemployed for 2 yrs!) Sad
I did the two parties but I don't really want to do any more until I get better. I love this forum!! So much information and the nicest people you'll ever know. I feel like I know them just by reading all the advice and experiences they have had. Face painters are hard working people who really just love wha they do. flower

Welcome! I'm new to face painting too! I just started in early May, and I have learned so much from this forum. If I have a question it seems like someone on here has already answered it - all i have to do it search!
