Post by OC FUN on Tue May 26, 2009 7:20 am

Well girls. I got married and it was beautiful lots of tears of joy. However, at the end it turned into tears of pain Sad . Our photographer was a dear friend who was going all out using special effect cameras as well as his regular camera. His regular camera was set down for a moment to use another camera and it was swiped. right their in the hotel and nobody notice. It was literally a split second when it happened. The hotel manager said that they could not access the security videos til monday even with the cops being their. We are currently on our honeymoon in florida and have received news that by watching the camera this guys was a pro. He was dressed formally to fit in and was their with the sole purpose of taking something valuable. Once he picked up the camera it took him 8 seconds to exit and peel out of the hotel. He was clearly caught on video and they got a good shot of his vehicle exiting. The cops say that they will catch him. However, knowing that he is a pro, I know that those pictures are long gone by now. And even though everyone says that we can press charges, it still doesn't change the hurt and the knowledge that our wedding pictures are gone.

We are now trying to enjoy our honeymoon but we just keep remembering the moment we all notice what had happened.

Needing lots of hugs and good thoughts,
Arely

Arely!!! I am so sorry!!! I will pray they will find the person and get your film or memory stick back at the very least. Surely, they only wanted the camera equipment...... What kind of a lowlife scumball steals a wedding photographer's camera on someone's special day!!!!

We know it was a beautiful wedding and you must be so happy!! Enjoy your honeymoon and your loved ones. They are the most important thing and NOONE can steal your memories and experience of your time with them!!!

Sending blessings your way!!! I am praying you have an extra special time!

Oh Arely, I am so sorry this happened! What a SICK thing to do to someone!! I'm glad they got him on the security cameras. Makes me wonder if he didn't realize he would be filmed doing it. Hopefully he is clueless and won't destroy the photos of your wedding. Did anyone else happen to take any pictures? Family members or candid photos? Well, enjoy your honeymoon and try not to worry about it too much. You've got the real prize right there with you!

Just remember what goes around - comes around. The swine got the camera, but you got the prize. Congratulations!!! Wishing you a lifetime of health, wealth and happiness.

Ask for a copy of the security tapes....the parts with your wedding party.

Don't dispair. If nothing else, you could put that dress back on, rent the tux and take some more photos. Not the same, but 10 years from now, it will be fine. I am sending lots of good vibes you way and hopefully it will work out.

I had my engagement ring in my wallet after a plane ride made my fingers swell. The wallet was stolen in Wal-mart. My only hope is that one day someone runs the laser engraved number into the database and it comes up stolen.

Hugs to you and have FUN on the honeymoon. WINK!

Our families went to the media to issue a plea for the thief to return the flash drive. Nothing yet, but we were the top story on local news and we are getting calls to do a national interview. My hubby wants us to, in case he wasnt a local.

We're hoping that it will persuade the thief.

I want to thank you all. Im feeling a bit better. Slowly Im letting it sink in that the pictures are gone, but not the memories.

Congrats and much bliss for you and yours in your married life!
My understanding and hopes are if they find the memory stick and it hasn't been formatted, there is still a chance to recover the pictures.

Congrats on your much awaited wedding! Sorry that someone had to put that black spot on your bright and shiny day. I think it's true that as time goes by, the only part that will remain is the bright shiny part.

So sorry about the camera being swiped. That's terrible. Ask all your relatives and friends for copies of any pictures they took. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help.

Many congrats on your wedding, OC! I'm really sorry about the camera... some people are just heartless Sad I hope the memory stick will at least turn up for you... but you're right, if not, you'll always have the memories of your beautiful day. I love you

This happened to a friend of mine recently ( well their wedding pic in camera got stolen). I know it's not the same, but maybe you could create a photobucket account and ask all your guest to share the ones they took on the account. The setup ones can be retaken, I know it's not the same....but try to enjoy your honeymoon.
