Re: FatMax Lid Support?
I've been concerned about the lid breaking off, but so far it's been fine. I put all the heavy stuff on the fatmax side & only put a few light weight things on the lid side. I always try to protect the fatmax. I either back it into a wall so no kids can access it. If I'm outdoors in a tent, I post my roadsigns around the outer edges of the fatmax like walls. The kids never go past them. I also place myself between my kit & the kids & let my big directors chair help block it. I've thought about bringing along an extra item, but didn't want to add one more thing for me to carry. It's just my fatmax & what I can fit in it & my chair.

I have seen the Art to Go box. It is pretty cool, good height, lets you lay overthing out and closes shut with everything in place for transporting!!! It is incredibly expensive but custom made. I saw it at LaFete with a lady (from TX?). She showed teh features to everyone. I know Vi mentioned she wanted to get one on her blog/video.
My fat max gets quite a shake up in and out of the car...I hear stuff rattling around.....
Right now I am a directors chair and Fat Max and sign. I can carry another folding chair too and I have this amazing folding table from REI that is a good height, has shelves adn two table tops that can both be set up or one.
It is called a camp kitchen. I dont use all the attachments.

I agree...I dont like having a young one behind me, they might get bumped or stick fingers in my paints. I want to create a barrier and limit access to my work space. Parents have been very supportive.

I always seem to have a barrier dilemma,no matter how I set up I have people all around me....when it's hot I feel like I have no air!

Re: FatMax Lid Support?
When I had a Fatmax my husband made a table top out of wood that had a lip on the bottom so it wouldn't slide of the fatmax and it also had a lip on top so my stuff wouldn't slide off the top. It was great until I broke everything from loading it into my van.
Re: FatMax Lid Support?
I set up my table like someone here showed... I've looked for the thread but can't find it. It's just a small foam board bungy-corded to the fat max. Then I have my sign on a set up I bought online. I'll have to find the link. It's a telescoping metal rod and a clip that clips to my board then I clip my sign (another piece of foam board with my pics velcroed) to it. It telescopes down and fits into a small bag that goes in my fatmax when I break down. Takes all of 2 minutes to set up.

Re: FatMax Lid Support?
I use a board also, like squiggle...which when i am done..i lay the board on the backseat of my car.(I NEED a van
)...that way i lay my fatmax on the board (on its side) and it slids easily across the seat of my car...that is the only draw back for me...how heavy...but I WANT stuff with me..and i take turns standing...(tall directors chair)...and sitting....depends how i feel that day...i think it is REALLY easy to use the fatmax as table when sitting...and i just painted my fatmax today.....(working on a 4 by4 awning to match!)...here is my fatmax painted!...

I love the flowers(don't you wish you could get rid of the Stanley Fatmax logo?). It just doesn't fit the decor
