That's it. World's ending.

It's official. I've been diagnosed with an allergy to chocolate.
Seriously.
It developed in the past 6 months(!!!) to the point where I can't have it at all anymore without the skin in my mouth coming off and my lips swelling up.

CHOCOLATE!!!

First, I'm allergic to the sun. Then I became allergic to wine. Now, I'm allergic to chocolate. My husband said that I just made Valentine's Day so much harder for him and that I am going to have my Woman Club Card revoked.

Can I go back to being a kid again?

Btw...that whole "You don't really crave something until you are told you can't have it" adage? Totally true.

I have an allergie to wine too. It is only an allergie to red wine. With the white wine I have no problems.

I'm allergic to sun, then I became allergic to beef (you can imagine how much I miss bloody oozing slabs of rare prime rib... )... becoming allergic to chocolate would be the last straw!

You can go wrong with jewelry, i am allergic to anything that isn't 14k yellow gold or surgical steel. If I try to wear fantasy earnings it makes my ears puss up in no time flat.

With any luck it will go away quickly!

OH my goodness! You poor thing! I feel like I should send flowers or a sympathy card! That is pure suckage! Olympic style!!!

I'm hoping the home remedies mentioned above can help you! On the bright side, when you can't have it, after a while you really don't miss it much at all except the odd time it suprises you. I've been 'beef free' for almost 10 years...no problem! NOW!

Okay, now there may be a little bit of hope at the end of your tunnel...my sister is allergic to the "vanillan" in the chocolate....you should see if that's what you're allergic to. It's hard to be allergic to pure chocolate, especially if it's made correctly, it should just be the cocoa, & sugar. Check it out--start with the really good stuff--Ghiardelli or Sharfenbarger. It's worth a try?

I ate two extra pieces for you last night. I had to since now the population of chocolate will overrun the planet if we don't ALL make up for it. LOL

My friend is allergic to chocolate & is able to substitute carob. It's an "earthier" flavor, but really not that bad. You can make hot "cocoa", brownies, cake....

I worked with a woman who was allergic to lectithin (sp?) I know that is an ingredient in some chocolate. There has got to be a way to get around that allergy!!!

Oh you poor thing!!! I eat chocolate every single day, usually several times a day!! I think I need a piece right now!! I have never heard of anyone being allergic to chocolate, OMG, the only other thing I can imagine being worse would be being allergic to coffee!! I would just kick the bucket!
