Thanks for the weighs - that is very helpful.

I haven't had a good experience with Arty Cakes so I would stick to the TAG, Wolfe, DFX . . . just my 2 cents . . . oh, but actually prefer my own!

Idea that pic with the scales is FREAKING awesome!!! I feel like I start losing my mind when trying to decide what to purchase, what layout/orientation, what brand paints, what colors...then of course I start worrying about pricing, then I start really wondering about how much paint you actually get, and how long it will last for the price....next thing you know I have 6 windows open on my computer from 3 different countries trying to comparison shop Question confused drunken scratch (dont get me started on factoring shipping...) the thing is that Silly Farm keeps sucking me back in with their $5 off and a free this or that' emails....I have yet to order from the shop here, but it sounds like a lot of folks really like the TAG paints, I dont have any yet. I recently bought some Paradise, a split cake and a black, and I like them...seems like the paradise split cake is bigger/cheaper compared to circle rainbow cakes from silly farm, and like people have said the mixing of brands/uneven wear in those I can see where that could be an issue. Ugh, so many things to consider. Wish money was no object, I could just go nuts and order all of it to try it myself, but in the meantime, all of your input/reviews/pictures are just PRICELESS! so thank you! Any advice on budget friendly first priority buys, feel free to bombard me (and yes I have been searching the 'must have' threads as well)...time to look at everything, another resource that is just to0 limited!! Shocked

Dear Kaci Anne:
To keep my costs down, I talk to my fellow volunteer facepainters at SickKids Hospital in Toronto and we go in together to each order different colors, then split cake them. We get twice as much color for the same cost, and we split the shipping.
I also share/split with my facepainting partner for bigger gigs. We share and trade glitter & paint.
Do you know any other facepainters in your area? (I was born in Warren, Michigan, so I am a fellow Michigander, originally.)
I have not figured out how to post pictures, yet, so I haven't put any of my pictures up. I am working (slowly) on a website). I have been so inspired by the facepaint here in this forum. I realized that I have been using the paint in a way that the paint was not designed for by painting portraits of Justin Beiber, or Bob Marley on children's arms. I love the whimsy and precision that I see in all the facepainter's in this forum. I am blown away by the skill that Psalmbook seems to effortlessly present to the forum.
