Step-by-step - Flaming Ball
I was asked for a SBS for the flaming ball I did with my dragon cake. You could also use the flame cake. It depends on how "dark" you want the flames. If you were good enough you probably wouldn't need to put the shape in first but it helps me keep my brushes in the right place and tell me where to twist my brush.

Carolyn Roper turned me onto it but I decide I wanted to use a brown so it would look more like shaded skin. It has a more natural shadow look than my black did.
