Beginner Videos

When I was done shooting my last Youtube video I asked Emma if she wanted a go at it...I was surprised when she took me up on it. These would be great for any child beginner painters so they could see someone young doing "real" face painting techniques in a not-so-serious way. (Frapachino flower & drippy dolphins)

We had a lot of fun so hopefully they will too when they try it. I'd love to see pictures if any of your kids try the designs.

I love watching children following in their parents footsteps. I wished my parents had a job/passion as cool as face painting, that way having a great introduction into this crazy world.
I caught my 5 year old today watching face painting tutorials on youtube (I am still puzzled how she knew where to find them!) But I can see her taking it all in and then coming to me trying to explain how I need to paint it.

Yes, it's been nice to have a teen you actually LIKE through the hard hormonal years. She's pretty fabulous. She's going to be the yearbook editor next year and so we have a great time talking graphic design & photography.

I know what you mean Daizy...I've always dabbled in a lot of things like cake decorating, calligraphy, landscaping, web design, sewing, etc. I kind of wish that I'd found face painting early on in life. I could have done it when the kids were young and we could have planned vacations around it, etc.

I really do like face painting and even my hubby is getting excited about it (not being painted, but the excuse to travel and try new things.) And I do like having this forum to talk with other face painting geeks. It seems like my extended family doesn't get it.

Your daughter is very talented (must've inherited it from mum ) - a sure, light touch with the brush and clean stroke! It won't be long until she paints with you, I'm sure

Video was very entertaining as well as instructive. Most of all I like the way you and your daughter interact on camera, so natural and most of all shows the great relationship of a mom and daughter.

She's getting better and better. Tonight she made a better shark than me! She'll be painting with me at a booth space I rented every Thursday for the summer.

We came up with a peacock eye design together that I think will be our next video.

Well done! You guys are hilarious. It's nearly 1:30 am and I was sitting here snorting with laughter when the dolphin dripped yet again...lol!

Wonderful job!

My four year old grandson(deaf) LOVES facepainting, he loves to get painted and I think more to to paint me or his own leg or arm. He may do this one day....who knows??

OMG I love these videos! I've watched a lot of tutorial videos, and these are the first to make me laugh! I really enjoyed them, and since I'm actually pretty new to face painting, I found them VERY useful as well! Thank you both so much. I especially appreciate seeing the over wet brush issue - I definitely have that happen occasionally, and I've been having trouble with my dots - I'm certain now that my brush for those is just too dry! I'm going to try both of these designs today, and work on my dots too, with renewed enthusiasm!
