Hello from Queensland Australia
Hi everyone!
My name is Jasmine and i have very recently developed an interest in face painting. I was at my partners work function where they had face painting by a pair of 15 yr olds that had never painted a face before and were afraid to try. So i picked up a paint brush and painted a butterfly on my 2 1/2 year old daughter and then finished off a pink cat on another girl. Everyone loved it but i hated it. From there i only wanted to improve on it and so my interest in face painting was born.
A week after that i got my first set of paints and have painted nearly everything that moves short of the animals (which i noticed someone here did!) Even the mother in law volunteered to be a guinea pig!
I've been combing through this forum now for a few weeks looking for and finding tips and ideas and still have only scratched the surface. The talent some of you have i can only dream about, the art is just beautiful, i just hope that one day i can reach that level.
I am hoping to one day make this a small hobby business doing parties and little functions, but for now i'll practice practice practice and hope to get better each time.
Thank you everyone for all your help so far and for all the help you will be in the future!

Welcome to the forum and have fun! It's most addictive! The desire to get better is also one of the strongest fuels and this forum helps so much.
Re: Hello from Queensland Australia
Thanks everyone!
I'm in north brisbane, I've been painting on some kids in my street most of the afternoon, i finally pained a tiger I'm semi happy with. My 21/2 yr old daughter is already well and truly over the whole face painting thing so now its me or the neighbours kids.
This looks to be a hobby that i'll never get over and i'll always be trying to get better as "TheGildedcat " said.....

Welcome, and don't forget your arms and legs will never refuse you the practice space.
Have fun.

Hi there, I am also new here. I have family in Brisbaine too (I am in the UK and originally from South Africa). I know what you mean about not being happy with the result. I had that with my first couple of designs, now I spend most nights just practicing brush strokes on my arm.
