Hints on how to build business with movie theatres, restaurants, night clubs etc...!

I want to start building some of my business opportunities with these different businesses. Wanting to take it up a notch.

Basically I am introducing myself and giving my card. The personal approach. My card has samples of my work and my number, biz name, and website. I have been focusing on nearby businesses and placed a mini ad on Craigslist. I have a free ad on mypartyplanner and partypop and some local business sites for my community.

Thanks in advance..... I am trying to be creative and build some new venues and opportunities.

Find one think and focus there. If they don't have enough jobs, then find another. But they are very different areas and you need to brand yourself different, since their needs are not the same at all.

I found some info on the "Snazaroo" site that dealt specifically with that. I too have been contacting hotels and movie theatres where I live, asking about family events that they host, or having a painter available for the bday party packages they have. I phoned initially, spoke to a manager, then i would ask for their email address and send them a promo pack. A brochure i have put together that tells them who I am, how long I have been doing this and what they can expect. I have had some pretty positive responses so far.

I know about the faq page but thought you had the web address for the specific one regarding getting work at resturants.

I generally do my postcard mailing to initially contact these types of businesses. I have two cards - one features body painting, the other faces.

If I am specifically going after a type of business I'll do a letter with mini-portfolio of the specific type of work I am proposing to do for them.

I am more passive about marketing - I don't do cold calling.

WyndyO - were you able to find anything out about night clubs? I'm looking into this too & haven't been able to find anything & really not sure where to start other than cold-calling....brrrr

I don't have the link, but I believe there's a list of topics to sift through on the site, when I first started, I spent hours just sifting the Snaz site.
