Kryolan Aquacolors

Post by eva on Thu Jul 21, 2011 12:13 pm

My face paint partner ordered white Kryolan Aquacolor paint, and she loved loved loved it, couldn't say enough good things about it. I was so excited to try it....as soon as I started brushing on my arm, the smell almost choked me..ughh. It is very nice to paint with, however if you have a sensitive sniffer it may not be for you. Kind of smelled like old lady to me...

To me Kryolan simply smells like make-up. I tolerate it (as in, it isn't unpleasant to me and is not overpowering like other brands that I won't bother naming!)

Weird. i found it very annoying, like old school avon body powder, you know the kind that came in pretty tins with a poofer. I am very sensitive, and thought the other unmentioned brand would bother me, but I actually like it. Then again, I rarely wear makeup because most of it bothers my sniffer too.

I don't understand why they have to put scent in any of the makeup. I am very allergic to the 'other brand' although it is my primary brand. I have to open it when I get a new cake and leave it for at least a week. If I go into the same room I get congested. I do, however, like the scent because it is very tropical. Kryolan is VERY strong and I don't care for it but don't get the same reaction.

I just got some and don't mind it - I was in Operas as a kid so it makes me kinda nostalgic cause it smells like backstage. I've only tried the unnamed brand at a workshop and love love loved it as to how it worked but the smell grossed me out and after once share housing with someone allergic to fragrance (except B.O.) I haven't bought it in case it bothered a kids sniffer. Still getting used to working Kryolan as a paint - also i've had the lids off cause they're in a laptop case so the smell has pretty much dissipated.

For those who were unaware, "It-who-shall-not-be-nammed" is Paradise which smells like a coconut sun lotion (makes me miss the beach)
Kryolan has an old timey perfume smell. I am not very sensative and do not mind either

I actually love the smell of Kryolan, haha. Meanwhile, I bought a pot of Paradise once and it gave me a headache withing 5 minutes of it being open - I swapped it away.

I <3 Paradise. Every time I open it I wanna go to the beach, lounge in a chair with a big floppy hat and sip on a huge maragrita. afro

I tried the Kryolan white at a store today and well.... I disliked it. It wasn't very opaque.

Really? I have no problem with Kryolan white - but I don't have a problem with Snaz white either. The brands all have an "optimum" method of application and with those two it is a bit of a heavier coverage to get it opaque.

hmm, I used a make up sponge tester, rubbed it into my arm... and it looked to me like the coverage i get with starblend powders. Guess I am just used to Wolfe White
