What is the most you would pay to buy the large jewels similar to what Mama Clown uses?

Well, nothing actually. They are very pretty, I just don't have a use for them.
Re: Large jewels for face painting
I don't even understand how you put them on
.. There's gotta be a trick to get all of those little jewels to line up neatly on the face - just as they are on the clear plastic!
It looks nice, but I don't think that I will use them...

Most that are used for scrapbooking or cardmaking have a clear "jelly" like rubberish thingy that keeps them together, I would guess these are the same.
Re: Large jewels for face painting
I don't think I'd pay much or even use them much simply because I put a similar one on my daughter and after 30 minutes she was complaining about it itching so I let her peel it off. If the adhesive that is used on them isn't intended for the skin, I'd be too wary of other people complaining about the same ailment.
Re: Large jewels for face painting
Hmmm...very cool if you do princess parties or things of that nature! I'm just starting to experiment with individual gems using eyelash adhesive and spirit gum, but agree that the method of adhesion is important to know. Are you asking what I'd pay as an artist to have these available in my kit, or what I'd pay as a customer for a face that includes these (or what I'd charge a customer)? I've been debating what to charge my clients for my gems...depends on the glue I use I think because eyelash adhesive is way more expensive than spirit gum.
Re: Large jewels for face painting
I think they look awesome but too much money for me to use on a regular.
Re: Large jewels for face painting
Yeah I agree with Margie, too much money for only 1 use.
I saw something similar in Kmart the other day - I think they were meant to decorate your phone?!? Anyway they were $2 for about two or three big bling creations that you could break into sections... and I still decided it was too much. I use sticky rhinestones on the girls that want to be a princess - and then all the girls that got butterflies or flowers start complaining they didn't get any gems.... grrrrr
It may work for the people that offer to upgrade with bling, glitter and gems...
but that doesn't go down well here in oz ... it's all or nothing here.
If I were doing mask's where I knew each person was paying like $10 per mask - then I would consider purchasing these.
You should have put a 'I wouldn't buy them" on your choices on your poll..... please don't take any offence they are truly beautifull, and a very good product for high end face art and even body art.

Re: Large jewels for face painting
I wondered about the less expensive ones without the sticky on them, and this is kind of strange, but I am thinking about trying something I used for my babies. The hospital used KY jelly to stick a little bow on top of my daughter's head, and it dried and was stuck there all day! I suspect that the gel in glitter gel is something like KY, and this would be a safe, soap and water way to remove the gems. I think I would only purchase the ones that I have seen that have many in a pack and are less expensive.
It drove my MIL nuts that I used KY to stick a bow on her granddaughter...she pulled it off every time she saw it! I will pass it on if it works!

I would pay no more than a buck a piece, but would expect that I would need to buy at least 20 at a time.

Those are beautiful! I have looked all over for larger gems but they are hard to find. I ended up making my own, but would love to have some of those. Where did you find them?

KY...that's hilarious!!
I carry some large gems on my site, although they haven't been big sellers yet anyway. they do look very cool as a centerpiece to the design, in the middle of the forehead or like a main jewel in a crown. http://www.paintertainment.com/StoreGlitterRhinestones.html#Gems They are the "assorted acrylic gems," in a small bag ($3) and a huge 1 lb bag ($16). Not to be a commercial... ;-) But then I suppose if you counted them and divided up the cost per gem, an extra dollar per design is probably about right, even if you use the more expensive glue. Another factor, the eyelash adhesive, while more expensive, dries quicker than spirit gum. So you spend less time (time is $!) waiting for it to stick! I'd charge more though if I'm taking the time to affix several gems separately, for sure.
