Best. Client. EvAAAAR!!!
A few weeks ago I was hired to do a birthday party. The day before the woman called me and asked if I could do an "emergency booking". She was screwed over by a bounce house company and had no entertainment for a grad party at her house. My girls were working but I had the night off, so why not?
We also got a Sunday grad party from that- 3 days of parties from this one woman...and every time she tipped amazingly and had us stay longer than the booked time.
You know how you get along with someone right away, like you've known them forever? That's how she and I got along. As we were chatting she said that they own a heating/cooling company that sponsors the children's sections of the Home and Garden Shows locally. Guess who is now the only face painter allowed?
While we were chatting she invited us- my family, not just me- on a vacation trip that they are taking to this awesome camp/resort just across the border in Canada. Hub and I thought it was the excitement of the party talking so we said we'd think about it and went on our way.
I got an email this morning saying she was serious and wanted to remind us of the invitation. If we come up and I do an hour or so of tattoos (and bring our alcohol- which we don't drink so no problem!), she'll foot the bill for the week. Reminds me of when I was a nanny and families had me go on vacation with them. I've heard of taking an assistant on vacation but not a body artist. lol
Btw, when I say resort I'm talking two heated pools, hot tubs, waterpark, beach, hiking, scuba diving/snorkeling, etc.
I don't think hub can take the time off from work for a week but the fact that the offer is there is AMAZING. I'm seriously considering it.

Ahahaha, you ladies are too funny!
I talked to my hub and he is going to try to take a couple days off that week. We're booked all weekend but a few days during week would be niiiiice. And I wanna go scuba diving!!!
Helena, no. The resort is on Lake Erie across the border, and since we're on Lake Ontario, it's a nice change.
lol

Lynnie, you really need to take some credit too. When I had the pleasure of meeting you at FABAIC you were the warmest and friendliest person there. You are special and deserve all good things. Enjoy Canada and don't forget your passport

I'm having an emo day and this just made me all gushy. Thank you so much! It was an absolute joy meeting you, though entirely too briefly!!! And my how different you look from your photo!! Ahahaha
Actually, because of you I'm now friends with Brady so I owe you a huge heap of thanks too!
I do hope we'll get to hang out more in the future.
Thanks again, that means a lot. <3
And yes! Thank you! My passport. My husband's enhanced license and my son's birth certificate. That's a lot of paperwork to go somewhere I can drive to! lol
Re: Best. Client. EvAAAAR!!!
Lynnie, That is totally awesome & you deserve it!!! I have a client that is like that. Same scenario, clown backed out & left them hanging 1 hour before the party. I just happened to have a slim opening & squeezed them in. Now I paint for all their kid's parties & family gatherings!

Head's up Lynnie, not sure how it works for you guys, but for us to cross INTO the US, kids 16 and over need an actual passport, event when driving. It is only under 16 and when crossing by car when they don't need one. Or is son 16? I forget...:S

Thanks though.
Linda, that's awesome!
I love it when it works out like that.
Skidzz, I thought I was miles away from that point too, to be honest. You never know!
Thanks, Lonnie! I'm looking forward to it!
